Hey, guys! Long time no write! Drama PMed me to let me know that you guys had done a certain episode in S6 that she thought I’d enjoy. But when I started to read it, I found I needed to catch up a bit. In order to get caught up a bit, I decided to start back a ways in Season Five and the title “Don't Sit Under the Family Tree" caught my attention, and after reading that, I ended up reading the entire thing up to that episode! I began sending my reviews to her and she’s finally said that she likes them, so I decided to share them with you guys. WARNING! I always have been and always will be brutally honest. If I like something you'll know if; if I *don't* like something you'll also know it. So if you only want to read complimentary reviews, you may not want to read mine! Here’s what I thought of S5: Had to tell you that I THOROUGHLY enjoyed “Don’t Sit Under the Family Tree!” I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I was to see that you guys are still using the idea of an evil branch of the family tree, an idea I helped hash out way back when C:RR first got started, and I love the idea that Lilith is the "apple" on that tree! I loved the whole idea of Melinda and Adam with Prudence, and Melinda and Matthew with Charlie. It makes why Melinda and Matthew have such "passion" make SOOO much more sense. I especially loved how Piper understood so well how Melinda felt towards her children...something I never thought Original Universe Piper did--I didn't thinks he had a maternal bone in her body the way she kept throwing her magical sons at her unmagical father! Naturally, the fact that this Piper isn't Charmed has a lot to do with that, but it just makes me like her more...she is still SOOOO much the heart of the family, as she should've been. Great job!
After reading that one, I *had* to read the season finale.
It was fun seeing Drake, Cole and Abby as set of friends and more fun to see the other sisters' reaction. I loved the way the entire ending premontion was set up and how Cole died by saving Phoebe. The Queen and what she tried to do also made me smile...it all and all made a great season ending!
After reading the season finale, I got curious to see how you handled getting rid of Matt, since his picture was no longer in the "starring", so I ended up way back in Unborn Identity, which I thoroughly enjoyed, so I just kept going and I'm now all caught up in S5!
I'm still confused...how/why did Matt die? Was it from something in an earlier eppi--remembering that I started at Unborn Identity?
Oh, I really liked the personality you guys gave Coop; I was just thoroughly disappointed that you brought him back rather than keeping the original Cupid...I like him so much more, and the personality you gave him sounds much more like him (Connie's Cupid), who I love, rather than Coop (Kern's cupid), who I hate.
Speaking of, I love the way you guys keep bringing back characters from earlier eppis, both the show and your own. It just makes the whole world seem SO much more real!
And, oh, when you guys are done with C:RR, rather than a spinoff with the next generation (boring!), I DO hope you do a spinoff with Abby, Cole and Drake and no Charmed Ones! That would be a blast!! I enjoy them more than the Charmed Ones!
Speaking of, I totally love the way you're writing Piper...it proves what I've always said that she shouldn't have both been the leader of the Charmed Ones *and* a mother!
I still don't care for Paige or her chronokinesis which usually lets her be the one who saves the day the way she was usually the one who saved the day with powers she shouldn’t have had during C:RR S4, since she should’ve only had the whitelighter version of TK while Prue was alive, not the summoning power or the THROWING power. (I still tend to skim any scenes that just includes her and not any of the other Halliwells) and am not nuts on Prue, but at least I don't hate them as I did during C:RR S4, and I still love Phoebs—if C:RR was truly what we would’ve seen after S3, she would still be my favorite sister, as she was in S1-2!
The twins (and WHY do you always capitalize twins?? They’re not the only twins in the word…) are a bit too powerful...that Twice Blessed crap that I can't stand...but I still love them anyway. Curiosity. I missed where they figured out that Chris is pure-whitelighter while Melinda is pure witch. Did you actually ever state that or just show it?
And I ADORE all the innocents and the use of Darryl and his family. You are truly taking the ideas of "Demon of the Week" and the serial ideas of the latter shows and coming up with what Charmed truly should've been like. I’ll post my Season Six reviews in that thread.

About Matt's "death". It's a scene that some other people have missed on first reading, but towards the end of the Unborn Identity after he believes his mission is done, Matt slams a potion to the ground, and vanquishes himself...or maybe it just returns him to where he came from.

I did read that scene, but I totally missed that that's what he was doing. Thanks for the explanation!

I've just finished the Season 5 premiere and I must say that it was a fantastic episode. I adored Drake. I wouldn't mind him being with Phoebe!

Drake is a great character. I still reckon him, Cole and Abby need there own series.
