So this is an opposite of the "Things That Squicked You Recently...." thread. Since I'm up late and can't get to sleep, I decided to start this thread. So I still haven't gotten my grades yet (I wonder how and when they come), but for my English class, my teacher has a TurnItIn.com account that we submit the papers to, and on it, he also provides our grades for all of our assignments from the semester. So I checked it today and guess what? I got a 100/100 on my FINAL! That's pretty rad, if I do say so myself. But I still don't count it as big as an achievment as my song analysis paper entitled, Subtext Sells, which, and I QUOTE, "is genius!" (Yeah, that was my teacher talking as he used my paper, with the name "Jane Student" to keep it anonymous, as an examplar paper for the class. He also wants to put it into an online collection of really good papers. "This is why I teach." Can you say, Oh yeaaaaah!) So can yall guess what I got as my final grade in the class? 99.3% I can only hope I did nearly as well in my other classes. *crosses fingers* And, uh, oh yeah *SQUEE!*

Congrats, although I kind of hate you for having that kind of English teacher. Me, last year (the last year I took a college English class) I got a stuckup witch (not of the Charmed variety) who graded my fiinal paper a &t%!@ C- just because she didn't agree with my thesis on a topic that had no right or wrong answer. (Possibly mixed with the fact she didn't like me) Other than her disagreement the only other red pen marks were a single missing comma, and a single dangling participle... Otherwise I met all dam paper requirements and everyother person that read my paper family, students, even other teachers agreed the lowest my paper should have gotten was a B+. Absolute crap, it killed my GPA, and the corrupt schoolboard refused to do anything but stickup for their teacher, and what I guess they thought was her right to grade a paper based on personal reasons.

OH, great job, Camille! I don't know what my overall grade in English was, but it was totally a high A, too. Ah, X. I hate when there's barely anything on the paper, but a shitty grade. And, honestly, teachers are not supposed to base their grade on YOUR opinions. It should be how the paper is presented and written. My teacher for next [Spring] semester - I checked her on ratemyprofessor.com and there are students who have said that she's a tough grader and that you should do topics she agrees with. Ugh.

You're kidding? I can't believe that the school board didn't do anything about it! Wow, I'm really sorry about that, X. That's crap. Out of curiosity, what was your paper on that she didn't agree with? ETA:OH, great job, Camille! I don't know what my overall grade in English was, but it was totally a high A, too. *high five* Right on, Jackie! Congratulations! ;D

I must be a little behind, because I was looking up the Charmed gang's latest movie/television projects and when I came to Julian, I found he appears to be doing a project called The Smell of Apples. The only other person signed on was Gillian Anderson and I thought, "Damn, that name sounds so familiar!" So I clicked it and to my surprise, it was the woman who played Dana Scully on The X-Files, which I used to watch all the time with my parents when I was little. (I remember being so excited when the first movie came out!) I couldn't help but think how much I was suddenly interested in The Smell of Apples, since it appears to have two stars that I just love on board. Anyway, so I began to scroll down, wondering what other projects she's been up to since The X-Files ended and when I saw it, I couldn't believe my eyes: Untitled X Files Sequel! It's set to come out in July 2008! That provoked a lot of squeeing, let me tell you! I can't wait to see this!! ;D Honestly, who would've thunk it? I think the show ended in 2002, so that's about a six year lapse! It'll be incredible to see David Duchovny (heh, I've always thought he was kind of cute in a strange way) and Gillian Anderson back together as Mulder and Scully again! They made such a fantastic duo! (I really hated it when the show ended up breaking them up as partners, it just wasn't the same. They belong together.)

I'd be a little more excited if the first movie didn't kind of suck, and ignore the fact that in "The Truth" M&S were on the run with Mulder having been sentenced to die, and so you know NOT working for the government at other levels, and that the handling of the mytharc alien invasion was cliche crap that I expected better out of from the X-Files...
Although after hearing that this one is supposed to be more standalone, I do feel a lot better about it's chance of being good.

Partners can't date. That's why SVU is like the way it is. We aren't going to see Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson hooking up until the last few episodes. Stupid partner rules.

Why can't they date? That seems so idiotic. (Well, from a fan perspective, I guess.) I don't watch SVU all the time, but the chemistry when I do watch is crazy. (SVU is by far the most quality of all the L&O versions.)

Totally. It's because the others switch characters like women go through shoes. While SVU has has four since the beginning; one since S2; first ADA from S2-5 and second from S5-9(present); and just got a new detective.
We know our detectives, and their personal lives have meaning to their cases. Oh man, some of the cases with Elliot...so much like his family livestyle and his unknown feelings for Olivia.
But, I don't really understand why partners/coworkers whatevers can't date. It really is stupid from what we can see.
No, wait. I take that back. From partners in the law enforcement, I can understand it. They had an ep while Marishka was pregnant, where there was a guy who kidnapped two little kids, and Liv and El were going after him, and the guy cut Liv's throat, and when El saw it, he could either check on her or go after the kids and the guy. He went to her. She said she was okay, then he went after them. The little boy was dead.
So, that's why they don't like partners in relationships together. It clouds their judgement and it puts the victims in danger.
And, that episode was like the beginning of OMG! They're in love. Even though we knew this before, but this was PROOF.
Okay, seriously. I'm in a rambling mood today. That's why my mom says I'm too hyper. Okay. I'm done.

Nevada caucuses!
Yep, I finally get to vote for the first time today (providing my mom gets out of the shower and we actually get to the polls before 11:00).
Obama, baby! (Side Note: I have a bad feeling Nevada is going to go Hillary, though. My state never chooses wisely.)

LMAO! Congrats!
I won't be voting in the primaries, but I may vote in Nov. Right now, there are too many candidiates and I don't know enough about them all. (And I don't really care about the primaries...)

Looks like Hillary pulled it out. Sorry, Camille. I know, I already through a fit and scared my mom with my shriek while she was driving. I was afraid this would happen. Gr! Hillary may win the Democratic nomination, but damnit, it'll take an act of Isis before she gains enough votes to actually win President! (The only way I see her winning is if the Republican race stays a very close three way tie, and the Republican votes are just too split up to give any of them a lead.) But since this thread is for squeeing, before I got the Hillary news, I did go with my mom and talked her into also voting for Obama. (She's a registered Republican, too, but you could change the registration at the voting place.) Anyway, it was super tight between Hillary and Barack, but you know what the final total there was? 55/57 TWO votes in favor of Obama! In other words, me and my mom. LOL Now, what's that about your vote not mattering? (Unless you live in Michigan, of course. But like I said, this thread isn't for fuming that Hillary only won there because there was no competition, so I digress...)
