[Scene: Manor. Entryway. The front door opens to show PRUE HALLIWELL holding several plastic supermarket bags. She sets them down on the ground and goes to hang her wet, black raincoat on a hook by the door. She goes to close the door as thunder is heard, lightning flashes across the sky, and rain pours down the San Francisco streets. PHOEBE HALLIWELL enters from the dining room, drinking a hot cup of coffee. PRUE looks up.]

PRUE: How is she?

(PHOEBE sighs and shakes her head.)

PHOEBE: I don’t know. She’s been locked up in her room since I got home from work.

(PRUE and PHOEBE walk towards the kitchen and PRUE opens the refrigerator to take out a bottle of water.)

PRUE: What about Leo? Has he talked to her? (She opens the bottle and takes a sip.) Actually, has Leo been around here lately?

PHOEBE: Yeah. Oh, you weren’t here yesterday; must have been out with Matt. (She winks and PRUE eyes her.) Well, remember how she blew up the door a few days ago? (PRUE nods.) And the clock that Leo always fixes? Well, she kind of blew up Leo yesterday.

PRUE: Oh…that’s not good. (pause) Okay, I’m going to go and talk to Piper and you should call Leo and talk to him.

PHOEBE: About what?

PRUE: Piper’s not the only one affected by the miscarriage, Pheebs.

PHOEBE: So, I get the job of talking to our whitelighter about it and you get to chat with Piper? Not fair.

PRUE: Phoebe. You’re the one working in a psychologist’s office.

PHOEBE: Yeah...well…it’s hard to talk to someone who is usually doing the consoling instead of the other way around.

PRUE: Somehow, you’ll figure it out. (She makes a cup of cocoa and leaves the kitchen. PHOEBE takes a deep breath.)

PHOEBE: Leo!

[Scene: Underworld. THE ORACLE’s Lair. THE ORACLE is looking into her crystal ball. She smiles as she watches PIPER HALLIWELL toss and turn on her bed.]

THE ORACLE: Perfect!

THE SOURCE’s VOICE: Is it time, Oracle?

THE ORACLE: Oh, yes. (THE SOURCE appears from behind the shadows wearing his blood red, hooded robe. THE ORACLE turns and smiles.) It’s time.

THE SOURCE: Good.

Act One

[Scene: PIPER’s bedroom. The sheets on PIPER HALLIWELL and LEO WYATT’s bed are wrinkled, and the comforter has been thrown to the floor. Only PIPER is in bed, and she’s restless. Her face is strained with tears, both dried and fresh, and she’s tossing and turning as she sleeps.]

PIPER: (whimpering) Melinda…

[Dream: MELINDA HALLIWELL runs into the room.]

MELINDA: Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!

PIPER: Uh, I think you have the wrong house; certainly the wrong mommy.

MELINDA: Stop fooling. (She hugs PIPER. A car honks.) Car pool! (She runs off. PIPER looks in the mirror.)

PIPER: Ooh. (She sees a wedding ring on her ring finger.) Ooh!

[Cut to the present. Tears roll down PIPER’s cheeks. Still sleeping, she involuntarily moves her hand to her stomach.]

[Cut back to the dream.]

MELINDA’s VOICE: Mom, I’m gonna be late!

PIPER: Okay, uh, TV, shut up. Mute. Something. (She walks to the door.)

NEIGHBOR: Morning, Piper. You alright?

PIPER: I guess.

NEIGHBOR: Yeah, with your sister, it’s rough, I know. So, don’t worry about your little one. I’ll get her to school like you asked, but uh, are you sure you want me to take her to your ex’s?

PIPER: Ex? As in husband? As in mine? (pause) Yes, if that is what I told you, then yes.

NEIGHOBR: So, you and him are getting along better now?

PIPER: Maybe. (She looks behind herself.) Prue? Prue?

NEIGHBOR: (to MELINDA) Okay, let’s hit the road.

MELINDA: (whispering to PIPER) Don’t worry, Mommy. I promise I’ll do what you ask. I won’t use my magic again, ever. (She leaves the Manor and gets into the car with the neighbor and PIPER watches them drive off.)

[Cut to the present. PIPER wakes up in a sweat. Her face is red and she wipes her eyes with the cuff of her sleeve. She places her hand on her stomach as more tears carve their way down her cheeks, and she looks to the ceiling.]

PIPER: I’m so sorry I failed you…

[Cut to the street. As the rain pours, DEMETRIUS shimmers in across the street from the Manor. His head is bowed. Looking up, he stares at one of the first floor windows and smirks, before turning and walking down the road.]

[Cut back to PIPER’s room. PIPER is still crying on her bed. A knock comes from the door and PIPER jumps. PRUE opens the door and comes in holding a cup of coco. She approaches the bed and places the mug on the nightstand. She sits on the edge of the bed.]

PRUE: I thought you might like some cocoa. (There is no answer from PIPER. After a few moments of silence, PRUE leans over and moves a strand of loose hair off of PIPER’s face.) Piper, talk to me. You won’t talk to your husband, I can understand that, but you have to talk to me. (PIPER just stares at the ceiling. PRUE decides to use a different tacit.) How’s the club doing?

PIPER: Lousy.

PRUE: What? Why? With Faith Hill, I thought that the club was doing a lot better.

PIPER: A chef and a bartender quit a few days ago. Not too mention that Michelle Branch plays tonight and I’m in my room feeling sorry for myself.

PRUE: Oh, sweetie, don’t feel sorry for yourself. It wasn’t your fault. Things like this happen to a lot of women.

PIPER: Yeah, but not from a demon attack. I feel so guilty, Prue! (She sits up and the tears start to flood over her again. PRUE moves in closer and hugs and holds her tight against her chest.) I thought I didn’t need someone to watch over me, but I should have listened to you guys. Then, maybe my baby might still be here. (Her hand returns to her stomach as she separates from PRUE.)

[Scene: South Bay Social Services. PAIGE MATTHEWS is sitting at her cubical, typing up a file. Her boss, MR. COWAN, walks up and stands over her.]

MR. COWAN: Paige, it’s almost one o’clock on your day off. Shouldn’t you be at home?

PAIGE: Well, I had to finish this report and… (She pauses and looks down. The file that was opened was about a five year old girl with an abusive father and an alcoholic mother.) They don’t deserve this girl. She needs to be with parents who will love her and will care….(PAIGE trails off as light tears escape from her eyes.)

MR. COWAN: Do you want to talk about it, Paige? (He knew it was more than just this particular case. This wasn’t the first one of these, and it wasn’t going to be the last.)

PAIGE: It’s stupid…

MR. COWAN: Paige, when one of my employees isn’t happy, I want to help them.

PAIGE: Well, remember my sister, Piper? The one I was going to have lunch with last week? (MR. COWAN nods his head.) She miscarried last week, and they were really looking forward to becoming parents. It’s not fair.

MR. COWAN: I’m sorry to hear that, Paige. How is your sister holding up?

PAIGE: (shakes her head) Physically, she’s fine. Mentally, she’s been a wreck all week. She’s depressed. I’ve been working here and dealing with children with bad home lives, but when it comes to people who I know that would make wonderful parents, the odds are against them. Why does that happen? I feel so helpless.

MR. COWAN: Paige, I’ve known you for a year and I know how much you want to help people, but some people, they just need time.

PAIGE: Doesn’t make me feel any better though. I feel so responsible.

MR. COWAN: It wasn’t your fault. Miscarriages happen, Paige. There isn’t much anyone can do about it.

PAIGE: It’s more complicated than that, but if you don’t mind, I don’t really want to get into it.

MR. COWAN: I understand, but if you need to talk, you know that my office is always open.

PAIGE: Thanks, Mr. Cowan.

MR. COWAN: Anytime, Paige. Now, go home and rest.

[Scene: Manor. Attic. A hairbrush with bits of blonde hair is holding down to a map of San Francisco. A silver chain is dangling from PHOEBE’s fingers, ending in a crystal which is swinging in circles over the map. A picture of LEO is clasped between PHOEBE’s fingers. She gives a little groan as the crystal swings with no sign of stopping. Sighing, she sets Leo’s picture down as COLE TURNER shimmers in. PHOEBE looks up and smiles sadly. COLE walks over to her and places his hands on her shoulders.]

COLE: Who are you scrying for? (He starts to massage PHOEBE’s shoulders.)

PHOEBE: (sighing) Leo.

(COLE stops rubbing her shoulders as a concerned look spreads across his face.)

COLE: He’s missing?

PHOEBE: No, he’s just not answering my calls. (COLE starts to rub her shoulders again, and PHOEBE leans her head onto COLE’s arm.)

COLE: Maybe you should let him handle things in his own time?

(PHOEBE pulls away and reaches for the hairbrush with the blonde hair.)

PHOEBE: It’s not that simple, Cole. (She digs her fingers between the brush bristles and grabs at a piece of short blonde hair.) You don’t realize how much Leo and Piper wanted this ba- (Her hand clamps the handle of the brush as she pulls out a few strands of hair from between the bristles.)

[Premonition: A black plastic sheet with the name “Tony’s Barbershop” scrawled across the front, flutters through the air, landing on a YOUNG WOMANwith light colored hair. An old woman, the HAIR DRESSER, snaps the covering around her neck and then grabs of a brush from the counter and runs it through the YOUNG WOMAN's hair.]

YOUNG WOMAN: I can’t thank you enough. I know this was last minute, but-

HAIR DRESSER: It’s fine. (She smiles as she reaches her fingers between the bristles of the brush and pulls out several strands of hair.) You’re just the person I was hoping for.

(The YOUNG WOMAN looks puzzled.)

YOUNG WOMAN: How’s that?

(The HAIR DRESSER walks to the mirror, where a canister of liquid is sitting. It appears to be the same liquid that hair dressers use to disinfect combs. She screws off the cap and turns to the YOUNG WOMAN. Her face suddenly turns gray and decayed, with maggots crawling from her empty eye sockets, nose, and mouth. The YOUNG WOMAN screams.)

HAIR DRESSER: Because I need your youth!

(The HAIR DRESSER throws the clump of hair into the liquid and it starts to bubble, before turning black. As the YOUNG WOMAN screams and runs for the doors, the HAIR DRESSER drinks the potion.)

YOUNG WOMAN: Help! Somebody, help!

(The YOUNG WOMAN's body falls to the floor and begins to rapidly age until she finally dissolves into dust. The HAIR DRESSER then transforms into the YOUNG WOMAN who just died. She walks over and grabs a broom, and begins to sweep of the remains.)

HAIR DRESSER/YOUNG WOMAN: It was a pleasure doing business with you.

[Cut to the present. PHOEBE drops the brush on the table and runs for the door. COLE starts to run after her.]

COLE: Phoebe, what’s going on?

PHOEBE: I need a phonebook. We’ve got an innocent to save.

Act Two

[Scene: Manor. Kitchen. PHOEBE is sitting at the table, leafing through the yellow pages under “Barbers”. There’s a knock at the door, but she doesn’t get up. As she turns the page, the doorbell rings.][/b]

PHOEBE: (yelling) Cole! Can you get the door?

[Cut to the front steps. PAIGE is tapping her foot anxiously as she raises her hand to knock again. The door opens and she finds COLE staring back at her. A few goosebumps rise on her skin as she and COLE share a dirty look, and then she sidesteps him into the Manor.]

PAIGE: Prue?

COLE: (irritated) She’s upstairs with Piper. (As PAIGE starts to open her mouth, he points to the kitchen.) Phoebe’s on the phone.

(PAIGE walks into the kitchen to find PHOEBE with the phone to her ear. She spots the phonebook on the table and walks over to find “Tony’s Barbershop” circled with a red pen.)

PHOEBE: (into the phone) Yes, that’d be perfect. (She scribbles “1:30” onto a yellow sticky note.) Thank you so much! (She hangs up.)

PAIGE: (to Phoebe) What was that about?

PHOEBE: I just made an appointment with our demon for thirty minutes from now.

PAIGE: We have a demon?

PHOEBE: And an innocent. (She grabs PAIGE’s hand and guides her towards the attic.) I’ll fill you in on the way.

[Cut to PIPER’s room. PRUE kisses PIPER’s forehead before grabbing the empty cocoa mug and walking to the door.]

PRUE: Call me if you need me, okay? (PIPER nods. PRUE leaves. As she steps into the hallway, she meets PHOEBE, PAIGE, and COLE. She narrows her blue eyes.) What’s going on?

PHOEBE: (to PRUE) I had a premonition of a innocent when I was scrying for Leo. We were going to see if we could find her in The Book of Shadows. (She continues walking. PRUE eyes COLE suspiciously and then whips her head back towards her sisters.)

PRUE: What kind of demon?

PHOEBE: The kind that gives identity theft a whole new meaning.

COLE: It sounds like-

PRUE: (cutting in) A shapeshifter?

PHOEBE: No, she needed a lock of her victim’s hair. (They walk into the attic.)

COLE: It could be-

PAIGE: (cutting in) Did she have any defining features?

PHOEBE: She had maggots crawling out of every hole in her face.

(PAIGE nods.)

PAIGE: Oh, well, I guess that’s pretty defining.

COLE: (yelling) Hey! (The sisters stop and turn to look at him.) I think I know who your demon is. (He starts to pace.) I met her back in nineteen-fifty. She goes by the name-

PRUE: Beldame.

COLE: (to PRUE) Yes. (pause) How did you-

(PRUE taps The Book of Shadows, revealing a hand drawn picture of a demon with maggots crawling in and out of her decaying face.)

PHOEBE: That’s definitely the demon from my vision.

PRUE: It says she’s also known as the Wench Demon, because she steals of the youth of eight young maidens every fifty years.

PAIGE: Young maidens? When was that entry written?

PHOEBE: (to PAIGE) Probably about a hundred years ago. (She pokes her head over PRUE’s shoulder.) It says the key ingredient in her potions is the hair from her victims.

PRUE: Ironic that she uses something that’s already dead to steal life.

PHOEBE: (to COLE) Do you know anything else about her?

COLE: She kills one victim a day. We only ever talked once, but I believe she said that her killings follow the Jewish celebration of Chanukah; one victim each night.

PAIGE: What’s the date?

PRUE: The seventeenth.

PAIGE: Then that means she has two victims left before she disappears for another fifty years. (to PHOEBE) We need to get you to that hair appointment.

PRUE: What?

PHOEBE: (to PRUE) I guess I forgot to mention, our demon works in a barbershop.

PAIGE: Phoebe made an appointment with her.

(PRUE looks at The Book.)

PRUE: We need a potion to vanquish her. (She looks at PAIGE and PHOEBE.) You two get to the barbershop, I’ll go get Piper and start on the potion.

PAIGE: Piper? Are you sure that’s a good idea.

PRUE: She needs something to take her mind off the baby. (She waves her arm.) Hurry, go!

(PAIGE and PHOEBE take hands and orb out.)

[Scene: Tony’s Barbershop. The bell above the door rings as PHOEBE and PAIGE walk in. The hair dresser, BELDAME, from PHOEBE’s premonition is working on a little boy’s hair. She sprays a fine mist over his dark brown hair and then combs it back.]

BELDAME: All done!

(PHOEBE nudges PAIGE in the arm.)

PHOEBE: (whispering) That’s her!

LITTLE BOY: (to BELDAME) Thank you!

BELDAME: You’re more than welcome. (He hops off the chair and heads for the door with his father.) Come back soon! (The LITTLE BOY waves as he walks out the door. The hair dresser looks over at PAIGE and PHOEBE. She quickly glances at PAIGE and smiles.) Ms. Halliwell?

(PHOEBE raises her hand.)

PHOEBE: That would be me.

(BELDAME’s smile disappears.)

BELDAME: Oh. (She makes a check on the clipboard.) I guess you’ll do.

PHOEBE: Excuse me?

BELDAME: Nothing. (She grabs a plastic sheet and motions to an empty chair.) Come take a seat. (She looks at PAIGE.) Are you sure you don’t want to get your hair done today too?

(PAIGE shakes her head and flashes a fake smile.)

PAIGE: I’m good.

(As BELDAME starts to drape the sheet over PHOEBE, the bell rings again and a young blonde woman, the same one from PHOEBE’s premonition, walks in. BELDAME eyes her instantly. PHOEBE looks at PAIGE and mouths, “innocent.”)

[Scene: Manor. PIPER’s bedroom. PRUE and PIPER are talking.]

PRUE: Are you sure, sweetie? Helping us to save an innocent might make you feel better?

PIPER: Please, Prue. I just don’t want to be around anyone right now. (She dabs her eye with a wet tissue. PRUE sighs.)

PRUE: If you change your mind-

PIPER: I won’t.

(PRUE nods.)

PRUE: Okay, I’ll check back on you later. Call me if you need anything. (She leaves the room.)

[Time Lapse: PRUE is in the kitchen, squeezing a pea green potion into a glass vial as COLE walks in. PRUE looks up with a sour expression.]

PRUE: As much as I don’t want to do this, I need you to stay with Piper. (She puts a cork on her potion and stuffs it into her purse.) Leo isn’t answering, and he’s not fit to stay with her even if he was.

COLE: If you wanted to stay with her, I could get the potion there faster.

PRUE: No, it needs to be blessed by the Power of Three, and you’re not part of it. (She skirts past COLE and stops in the doorway.) Don’t let anything happen to her.

(COLE stares at her and then nods.)

COLE: I won’t.

(PRUE leaves.)

BREAK

Act Three

[Scene: Manor. PIPER’s room. PIPER is restlessly sleeping on her bed. DEMITRIUS shimmers in. He places his hand above her ear and a small sphere of green light falls into her ear. He grins as he steps back.][/b]

DEMITRIUS: You want to find me, Piper.

(DEMITRIUS shimmers out. PIPER wakes up. Her eyes flash green as she flings out her hands in the direction DEMITRIUS had just been and a picture of her and LEO is blasted. It falls to the floor with a loud crash, leaving a jagged crack between the two.)

PIPER: Where are you?

DDEMITRIUS’ VOICE: Come find me, Piper.

[Scene: Tony’s Barbershop. PAGIE is nervously sitting in the waiting room with their innocent as BELDAME cuts PHOEBE’s hair. BELDAME keeps glancing back at the innocent with large eyes.]

PAIGE: (to the innocent) Oh, Sophie, I really think your hair looks fine! (She leans towards SOPHIE, no more than twenty-five-years-old, and starts to whisper.) Just between you and me, these places rip you off. I mean, twelve dollars for a trim and style? Come on!

SOPHIE: I know, but it’s really important. (She beams.) Tonight marks the year anniversary for me and Charlie. (SOPHIE strokes her blonde tresses.) I want everything to be perfect.

BELDAME: (to PHOEBE) Finished! (She anxiously turns to SOPHIE.) Next.

(PHOEBE and PAIGE share a look. PAIGE starts to say something, when the door jingles and PRUE walks into the empty barber shop.)

PAIGE: (muttering) Oh, thank god!

PHOEBE: (to PRUE) It’s about time!

SOPHIE: What’s going on?

PRUE: (to PAIGE) Get her out of here.

(BELDAME’s eyes turn black.)

BELDAME: Witches! (BELDAME raises her arm and a fireball appears above her palm.) I knew you didn’t smell right.

(BELDAME hurls the fireball at PRUE, but PRUE raises her arm and deflects it back at BELDAME. The fireball hits her, but doesn’t harm her. SOPHIE stares wide eyed, seemingly dumbstruck. Then, she screams and her eyes roll back in her head. PAIGE catches SOPHIE as she faints.)

PHOEBE: Not just any witches. (She runs at the demon and leaps into the air, landing her foot into BELDAME’s jaw before levitating to the floor.) The Charmed Ones!

PRUE: Phoebe, the potion! (PRUE pulls the vial from her purse and tosses it to PHOEBE.) You and Paige need to bless it. (She looks at BELDAME.) I’ll fend her off. (She squints her eyes and sends BELDAME crashing into one of the mirrors, causing it to shatter.)

(PAIGE orbs in.)

PAIGE: She’s in a safe place-

(PHOEBE grabs PAIGE by the arm and pulls her back.)

PHOEBE: We have to bless the vanquishing potion.

PAIGE: Bless it?

PHOEBE: With our blood.

(PAIGE looks around and sees a pair of scissors on the counter. She holds out her hand.)

PAIGE: Scissors! (The scissors orb into her palm and then she opens them up and winces as she slices her index finger. A drop of blood falls into the vial and then PHOEBE takes the scissors.)

BELDAME: Not so fast. (She grabs a brush that’s fallen to the floor and waves it threateningly. Her eyes land on PHOEBE.) I still have your hair.

PHOEBE: Paige!

(PAIGE holds out her hand.)

PAIGE: Hairbrush! (The brush glows blue and then remains in BELDAME’s hand.)

BELDAME: I’m not in the mood for your parlor tricks, witch!

(BELDAME twists her arm to the side and sends all three sisters skidding in different directions. Then she summons one of the containers of blue potion to herself, and unscrews the cap. BELDAME’s face transforms into the decayed, maggot infested skull PHOEBE saw in her premonition. She tosses PHOEBE’s hair in and it starts to bubble and turn black. Suddenly, a red glow appears behind BELDAME, and ASTRAL PRUE appears. ASTRAL PRUE backhands the side of the demon’s head, knocking her to the floor. The glass container shatters on the ground, allowing the gooey black potion to run onto the tile floor.)

PHOEBE: Blessed!

(PHOEBE gets up as ASTRAL PRUE vanishes, and helps PAIGE to her feet. BELDAME screams as PHOEBE throws the vial at her. PRUE opens her eyes and gets off the floor as smoke rises around BELDAME, followed by flames that lick her body which rapidly ages until it finally dissolves into dust. The three sisters walk to the center of the room and stare at the black pile of dust.)

PRUE: You know what they say, you can’t stay young forever.

[Scene: Manor. Kitchen. COLE’s sitting at the table, typing out a legal brief on his laptop. PIPER walks in, startling him. He looks up and quickly closes the laptop.]

COLE: Piper, hey. (He notices that she’s not wearing her pajamas.) Are you feeling better?

PIPER: I need you to do something for me.

(COLE tilts his head to the side.)

COLE: What is it?

PIPER: I need you to take me to the Underworld.

BREAK

Act Four

[Scene: Underworld. A fiery explosion dies down, revealing PIPER with her raised hands and COLE standing next to her. PIPER’s face is flushed and her eyes are streaked with red. She storms off down another dark corridor, with COLE following close behind.][/b]

COLE: Piper, I don’t think you’re in the best condition to be doing this.

DEMITRIUS' VOICE: Just what does he know, Piper? He hasn’t lost a child.

PIPER: You don’t know anything, Cole! A demon didn’t murder your baby!

(COLE grabs PIPER by the arm and shoves her against the wall.)

COLE: Listen to me! I’m not trying to stop you from vanquishing Demitrius, but I’m worried about your well being. Look at yourself. You’re in no condition to be demon hunting, especially without your sisters!

(Angrily, PIPER shoves him away.)

PIPER: Go to hell!

(PIPER flicks her wrists and COLE freezes. She stalks off down the corridor and disappears into the darkness. Several moments later, COLE unfreezes and realizes that PIPER is no where to be found.)

COLE: Piper? Piper! (He hurls an energy ball into the rock wall, creating a black scorch mark.) Damnit! (He shimmers out.)

[Cut to THE ORACLE’s lair. THE ORACLE is staring into a cloudy crystal ball, where she sees a vision of PIPER vanquishing another demon in the Underworld. THE ORACLE quickly turns to THE SOURCE.]

THE ORACLE: The Charmed One is here, alone. Demitrius is slowly poisoning her mind with his insistent thoughts of vengeance. (She smiles.) She’s ripe and ready for Svengali.

(THE SOURCE waves his arm. A plume of blood red smoke swirls in front of him, then a sexy blonde demoness appears. She’s scantily clad in a heavy golden breastplate trimmed with a golden snake. A gold, looped chain is hooked to the center of the breastplate and travels up her bare chest to her neck, where it’s hooked to a golden choker. A gold plate of armor sits at the front and back of her waist, with two long sheets of crimson satin that fall to her golden spiked heels. Her hair is pulled into a tight braid, which hangs over her left shoulder and her arms are covered with several golden snake shaped cuffs. The Vengeance Demon High Priestess, SVENGALI, kneels respectfully at THE SOURCE's feet.)

SVENGALI: What do you require, my Liege?

THE SOURCE: I want you to attack and infect the former middle Charmed One with vengeance. (He grabs her by the throat and lifts her into the air.) Do not kill her!

(SVENGALI’s eyes bulge a little as she gasps for breath. THE SOURCE drops her to the floor and she grabs at her throat, which now burns with a red hand print.)

SVENGALI: (gasping) Y-yes, my Liege. (She vanishes in a puff of red smoke.)

[Scene: Manor. PRUE walks through the door and places her sopped umbrella by the coat rack. She slips off her coat as she heads for the stairs.]

PRUE: (yelling) Piper? (She hurries up the stairs to PIPER’s room and peeks inside, only to find it empty. She scrunches her brow and shuts the door.) Piper!

(COLE shimmers in.)

COLE: She’s not here.

(PRUE locks her eyes with COLE.)

PRUE: What do you mean she’s not here?

COLE: She asked me to take her to the Underworld-

PRUE: And you just let her go?!

COLE: No! She froze me and went off by herself.

PRUE: I knew I should’ve never trusted you with her! (She spins towards the attic.)

COLE: Prue-

PRUE: No, Cole. I think you should leave. (COLE opens his mouth.) Now.

(The sound of the front doors is heard, followed by the pounding of feet.)

PHOEBE's VOICE: (yelling) Prue?

(COLE looks at PRUE and then shimmers out.)

PRUE: (yelling) I’m in the attic!

[Time lapse. PRUE, PHOEBE, and PAIGE are huddled around The Book of Shadows in the attic. PHOEBE looks shocked and PAIGE looks angry.]

PAIGE: (angrily) He took her to the Underworld?! In the condition she was in? She was barely able to get out of bed, let alone go after the demon who nearly killed her!

PHOEBE: I’ll admit it was the wrong choice, Paige, but you have to look at it from his point of view. He was just trying to help her.

PRUE: And now Piper’s missing. In the Underworld, by herself no less! How is that helping her, Phoebe?

PHOEBE: Which is precisely why we should be looking for a way to find her, instead of you two arguing with me! (She heads for the door.)

PRUE: Just where do you think you’re going?

PHOEBE: To Piper’s room, to try and get a premonition. (She leaves. PRUE and PAIGE exchange looks.)

PAIGE: What about the spell you used to find me?

PRUE: The spell to call a lost witch? (PAIGE nods.) That just might work. (She starts flipping through the pages for the To Call A Lost Witch spell.)

[Scene: Underworld. PIPER waves her hand as she clears away a cloud of black smoke leftover from her latest demonic vanquish. She tilts her head towards the rocky ceiling.]

PIPER: Come out you coward! What’s wrong? Are you too scared to face me?! You can take the life of an innocent child but you can’t face her mother?!

(DEMITRIUS shimmers in.)

DEMITRIUS: Looking for me, Piper?

Act Five

[Scene: Underworld. PIPER raises her hands as she stares down DEMITRIUS.][/b]

PIPER: You bastard!

(PIPER snaps her wrists forward, but DEMITRIUS lunges to the side, narrowly avoiding her explosive power. Red dust and rocks pour from the explosion. DEMITRIUS forms a green sphere in his hand and hurls it at the witch. It grazes PIPER’s arm, leaving a bloody gash. PIPER screams in frustration and attempts to blast DEMITRIUS again. This time, DEMITRIUS shimmers out and another avalanche of rock tumbles from the hole in the wall. As DEMITRIUS shimmers in, catching PIPER’s attention in the far corner of the cave, SVENGALI appears behind PIPER.)

DEMITRIUS: What’s wrong, Piper? Having trouble exacting your vengeance on me?

(SVENGALI grabs PIPER from behind. She wraps one arm around PIPER’s arms, holding them to her sides, and then wraps the other around her neck. PIPER begins to choke and her face starts to turn red.)

[Scene: Manor. Attic. PAIGE comes into the room carrying a jar marked “Cypress” and a jar marked “Yarrow Root”. She sets them on the table next to a large silver bowl, which PRUE is sprinkling rosemary into. PRUE takes the cypress jar from PAIGE and sprinkles some into her potion pot.]

PRUE: You should go get Phoebe. I’ll finish up with the potion. (PAIGE sets down the second jar and leaves the attic. She opens up the yarrow root and throws some into the bowl.)

[Cut to the Underworld. DEMITRIUS is watching with delight as SVENGALI is whispering into PIPER’s ear, sounding seductive and almost snake-like.]

SVENGALI: You want vengeance on me, don’t you Piper? You want vengeance on all of us. On magic, for taking all the people you’ve ever loved. (SVENGALI’s irises glow red.) Your mother, (she smirks) your father left because of magic, (the golden snake cuff on her wrist suddenly flashes and turns into a slithering snake) and now your daughter.

[Cut to the Manor. PRUE, PHOEBE, and PAIGE are gathered around the pot with their hands joined. A jeweled athame sits next to the herb jars.]

PRUE, PHOEBE, & PAIGE: “Powers of the witches’ rise,
Course unseen across the skies.
Come to us, we call you near.
Come to us, and settle here.”

[Cut to the Underworld. The former bracelet hisses as she slithers around SVENGALI’s wrist. Its long, forked tongue slides across PIPER’s neck and then it rears back and wraps its large mouth onto PIPER’s neck.]

[Cut to the Manor. A small drop of red blood is on PRUE’s finger. PAIGE slices her finger over the silver pot and her blood falls in, then she hands the ceremonial athame to PHOEBE, who also cuts her finger and allows a drop of her blood to mix with her sisters’ blood. She sets the athame down and the three women take hands.]

[Cut to the Underworld. Red streaks start to stem from the bloody bite and course up PIPER’s neck as the venom works quickly through her bloodstream. Then, PIPER’s brown eyes flash blood red. The snake flashes again, returning to a golden bracelet as SVENGALI steps away from PIPER.]

[Cut to the Manor. The sisters are chanting.]

PRUE, PHOEBE, & PAIGE: “Blood to blood,
I summon thee.
Blood to blood,
Return to me!”

(A cool breeze rustles their hair. They wait, but nothing happens.)

PAIGE: Where is she?

PHOEBE: It didn’t work.

PAIGE: It didn’t work? How could it not have worked? It worked before!

(The Book of Shadows flies open and the pages begin to turn. The sisters turn towards The Book as the pages settle. PHOEBE walks over to The Book, revealing that it’s opened to a hand drawn picture of SVENGALI. PRUE and PAIGE walk over.)

PRUE: “The High Priestess of Vengeance.” (PHOEBE touches the corner of the page and is drawn into a premonition. When she opens her eyes, she immediately walks back to the silver bowl.) What did you see?

PHOEBE: Our spell didn’t work because Piper is no longer a witch…She’s a Vengeance Demon. (She quickly throws more herbs into the silver pot and then holds out her hands.) Here, take my hands and repeat after me.

PAIGE: What’re you thinking?

PHOEBE: That if we swap a few words in the spell, we can reverse it to take us to our sister, instead of bringing a lost witch to us.

[Cut to the Underworld. PIPER is scowling at DEMITRIUS.]

DEMITRIUS: If you want me Piper, come and get me!

(DEMITRIUS shimmers out. PIPER throws her head back and screams; it resonates off the rocky walls. A swarm of white firefly-like sphere light up the cavern, forming into PAIGE, PHOEBE, and PRUE. Suddenly, a golden sheen envelopes PIPER. Her clothing transforms into a scantily clad and revealing brown leather corset with cross hatching laces on either side of her body, from her hip to just under her arm. Ancient golden symbols are etched onto the front of the corset and the actual skirt is floor length brown satin, with two slits on either side of her dress leading all the way up to her thighs.)

PAIGE: (shocked) Piper?!

SVENGALI: (to PIPER) Leave them! They’re your second priority.

(PIPER looks at her sisters and raises her arm, sending them flying across the cave. SVENGALI smokes out in a red haze. A cloud of black smoke rises around PIPER and she, too, vanishes.)
