Spiritual Entrapment
Teaser
[Scene: Black and red candles are lit around a dark room, casting eerie dancing shadows on the walls. On the floor, LILLITH is seated with her legs crossed, holding PRUE’s discarded pregnancy test in her hands. She has her eyes closed, concentrating. The flicker of flames reflect on her face as her expression changes from concentration to frustration, and she finally opens her eyes and throws the test down.]LILLITH: (hissing) This isn’t strong enough! (She presses her hand to her forehead and exhales. Slowly, her other hand begins to strum across the hardwood floor.) I need the child herself. (Suddenly, LILLITH’s head falls to her chest and her frame goes limp.)[Cut to a misty expanse of space, as far as the eye can see. The sky is an ever-changing rainbow of pastel colors and the ground is awash of shifting cloudy white mist. At one point on the horizon, the sky and ground seamlessly come together, and it’s almost impossible to see where the ground ends and the pastel sky begins. All throughout the plane, there are various colored blurs moving back, forth, up, down, and diagonal. The blurs are moving so fast that they resemble footage of a multi-lane Los Angeles freeway at night on fast forward. In the middle of all of the racing blurs, a semi-transparent man is standing. He reaches out and smacks a couple of the blurs, which veer off in other directions, hitting other blurs and sending them off course as well. Then he claps his hands, catching one of the blurs between his fingers. His hands shake, as the blur seems to fight, then as his hands stop trembling, he opens them up and the blur grows and transforms, taking on a human figure, then she turns into a woman. The woman looks shocked and frightened. She stumbles back.]WOMAN: Wh-who are you? SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: The Lord of this plane. (He pulls his hand into a fist and the woman drops to her knees.) And now you’re my puppet. WOMAN: (begging) Please- SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: (echoing) Silence! (The woman’s mouth clamps shut, so she instead begins to shake her head rapidly. Tears form in her eyes as she clasps her hands together in a praying position. Unbeknownst to the SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN, a blood colored flare appears not five feet behind him, transforming into ASTRAL LILLITH. ASTRAL LILLITH notices him immediately and snaps her fingers, summoning a fireball to her palm.)ASTRAL LILLITH: Let the witch go. (The SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN spins around. He sees her threatening fireball and waves his hand, but it does nothing. He looks down at his hand in shock.)SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: No. (to LILLITH) Who are you? (ASTRAL LILLITH eyes the pleading projection of the witch, still on her knees before the man.)ASTRAL LILLITH: That’s not necessary for you to know. (She motions to the astral projection.) I haven’t any use for her, so if you please… SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: And what do you want me for? ASTRAL LILLITH: I have a job for you. (The man eyes his astral projection victim cautiously.)SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: I’m listening. ASTRAL LILLITH: It’s a private job. (The SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN grunts, then claps his hands and the astral projection of the woman turns back into a blur and zooms off with the other blurs. He turns, brushes his hands, and waits. ASTRAL LILLITH extinguishes her fireball.) ASTRAL LILLITH: I need you to distract one projection in particular. (As she walks near to him, a photo appears in her hand. She holds it up to him.) It’s a very special projection, far brighter than most of the others that ever come through here…you might have seen it before? (The SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN stares back at the picture of PRUE HALLIWELL.)SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: A Charmed One. ASTRAL LILLITH: Yes. SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: She’s a very powerful projection. ASTRAL LILLITH: But not too strong for you, correct? SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: I believe I could control her. ASTRAL LILLITH: Then you’ll accept my task? SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: What’s in it for me? (ASTRAL LILLITH grins.)ASTRAL LILLITH: Your freedom from the astral plane. Clickable Credits.

{SCENE: The song “Within You,” written and sung by Ray Lamontagne, is heard as stock shots of San Francisco are shown while the Guest Credits are rolled.}
Act One
[Scene: Manor. Attic. The light is on, despite that the early morning light is just starting to peek through the stained glass windows, and PRUE HALLIWELL, wearing red drawstring pajama pants and a white pajama tank with printed cherries on it, is seated on the ratty sofa, examining the old family tree, which is lying in her lap. PHOEBE HALLIWELL stumbles in, wearing tie-dye pajama pants and a bright yellow tank top, with fuzzy red slippers. She shuffles over to PRUE and flops down. She’s munching on a cookie as she leans over to look at the family tree.]PHOEBE: What do you have that out for? (PRUE gazes down at the bottom, where “Melinda Patricia Halliwell” and “Christopher Victor Halliwell” are written with lines descending from “Piper Halliwell” and “Leonardo Wyatt.”)PRUE: I don’t know, I was just…looking at the names, I guess. (PHOEBE bites off another hunk of her cookie.) PRUE: What are you doing up here? PHOEBE: Got the munchies. (She wags her third of a cookie.) And on my way back to enjoy my long awaited day of sleeping in, I saw the light on up here. (She shrugs and polishes off the rest of her cookie and dusts her hands together.) Why were you looking at names? PRUE: For ideas. PHOEBE: Ideas? ( PRUE tilts her head, giving her sister an obvious look.) Oh! (She puts her hand to her mouth.) You decided to… (She eyes PRUE’s stomach.) Are you really going through with it? (PRUE picks at her cuticles.)PRUE: Yeah. (PHOEBE throws her arms around PRUE excitedly.)PHOEBE: I’ve been wondering, but I felt funny just asking. (She pulls away, grinning.) Can I ask you what made you change your mind? (PRUE glances down at the name “Patricia Halliwell” on the family tree.)PRUE: I guess I just realized how easy I have it. (PHOEBE stares at her curiously.) Mom got pregnant with me when she was just a kid, and given the time and everything, she had way more reason to not want a kid than I do…so I guess I just figured that if she could do it, then I can too. PHOEBE: For what it’s worth, I think you made the right choice. (PRUE touches her belly.)PRUE: I hope so. PHOEBE: So, when are you going to tell Piper? PRUE: …when I start having labor pains? (Phoebe lightly hits Prue’s arm.)PHOEBE: Come on, you know she’ll be happy. PRUE: Uh, have you seen the way she’s been treating me since the cat got out of the bag? PHOEBE: Yeah, well, you also kind of have to see her point, Prue. Family is everything to her. (pause) You should tell her. And Paige, too, I know she’s been as curious as me. PRUE: I will…eventually. I just need to adjust myself first. (PHOEBE nods.)PHOEBE: So, (she points to the family tree) did anything jump out at you? (PRUE shrugs.)PRUE: I’m not really sure yet. PHOEBE: Are you going to keep the “P” tradition? (Again, PRUE shrugs.)PRUE: Honestly, Pheebs, I really haven’t thought that far ahead yet. PHOEBE: Well, you know, (she flashes a pearly grin) I’ve always really liked the name “Phoebe” for a girl. (PRUE playfully hits her sister.)PRUE: We’ll see. (She rolls up the family tree and walks over to the trunk, where she puts it away. PHOEBE hops up.)PHOEBE: Well, since we’re both up, wanna go raid the box of Oreos Paige thinks she hid from me? PRUE: You’re evil, Pheebs. (PHOEBE shrugs.)PHOEBE: I blame it on being born in Manor. (She grins.) Is that a yes? (PRUE grins and follows PHOEBE out of the attic.)[Scene: Piper and Leo’s house. Living room. The early morning light is flooding through the sliding glass doors. CHRISTOPHER HALLIWELL has a pacifier in his mouth as he swings back and forth in his electric baby swing. PIPER HALLIWELL is walking around the room with a watering can in hand, anxiously watering various potted plants that have been set out.]PIPER: How does that even happen? ( She looks at her son, as if he’d actually answer.) I mean, you’d think that there’d be some sort of cosmic failsafe, right? Who gets to come from the future and procreate? Honestly! (She walks over to the entertainment center and stands on her tip toes, reaching the watering can up to the top of the entertainment center to pour water into a leafy green plant.) In fact, if you really think about it, it’s almost a little disturbing. Just how far into the future was he from, anyway? Is that even allowed? Just who does he think he is? (She forcefully sets down the watering can on the table and turns to her son with her hands on her hips.) I cannot believe he pulled a Kyle Reese on us! LEO WYATT's VOICE: Who’s Kyle Reese? (PIPER turns around to see LEO standing in his flannel pajamas, with a sleepy MELINDA HALLIWELL in his arms.)PIPER: You’ve never seen “Terminator”? (LEO shakes his head.)LEO: I don’t really have a lot of time for movies. (PIPER shakes her head.)PIPER: Oh. (She laughs.) It’s…nothing. (She walks over and takes MELINDA from LEO. LEO notices the watering can on the table.)LEO: I was wondering why you were up so early. (He walks over and picks up the watering can.) What’s wrong? PIPER: What’s wrong? Why would you think something’s wrong? LEO: You water when you’re nervous. (pause) Is this about Prue again? (PIPER looks away, guiltily.) Piper… (He touches her shoulder, but she shifts away from his touch.)PIPER: I just can’t understand it, Leo. (She looks at MELINDA, then at CHRIS.) How can anyone want to give something so precious up? And Prue, of all people! (pause) I’d help her. And Phoebe and Paige, too. (She sits down on the couch.) I just don’t understand. (LEO turns off CHRIS’s swing, scoops his son out, and sits down on the couch next to his wife and daughter.)LEO: I can’t say I understand either, but then again, we haven’t walked in her shoes. (pause) Can I offer my two cents? (PIPER strokes MELINDA’s soft brown hair. She nods.) I think you should just be supportive of her, Piper. Alienating her isn’t going to make her feel any better about keeping that baby…and whether she decides to keep it or not, it’s still wrong for you to treat her the way you have been. You’re still her sister, and she still needs your support right now. [Scene: Manor. Kitchen. PHOEBE pours some chopped banana slices into a blender that already contains strawberries, then follows it up with some orange juice.]PHOEBE: Are you sure you don’t want a smoothie too? (PRUE nods. She touches her stomach.)PRUE: I’m not really hungry. (PHOEBE puts the lid on the blender and turns it on.)PHOEBE: Is the morning sickness finally kicking in? (PRUE shrugs.)PRUE: It’s not exactly “morning sickness,” because I’ve been fortunate enough to forgo the vomiting, but it’s more like a swirling feeling…kind of like being on a rocky boat ride, where you know that as long as you don’t eat anything, you’ll be fine. (PHOEBE turns off the blender and grabs a cup from the drainer.)PHOEBE: Well, you can’t just go around not eating, you know. (She pours her smoothie into the cup and takes a drink, then licks her lips.) Are you absolutely, one-hundred percent sure? (She holds out the smoothie.) It’s really yummy! (PRUE holds up her hand, turning her head away so she won’t have to look at the drink.)PRUE: I’m positive. PHOEBE: Your loss. (PAIGE MATTHEWS walks in, yawning. Her hair is sticking out in odd angles. PHOEBE giggles.) PHOEBE: And I thought I got bad bed head. (PAIGE glares.)PAIGE: I couldn’t sleep last night, thank you very much. (She moves to the fridge and starts to rummage through it.) Kept tossing and turning. PHOEBE: Sorry. (She takes another drink of her smoothie. PAIGE pulls out a gallon of milk and shuts the fridge with a pout.)PAIGE: We’re all out of the good stuff. (PHOEBE holds up the orange juice.)PHOEBE: Orange juice? (PAIGE makes a face.) PAIGE: Nah, I can’t drink orange juice anymore. (She moves to the cupboard.) I used to have it in so many mixed drinks when I was a kid that it only tastes like alcohol if I drink it now. (She pulls out a box of Fruit Loops. She smiles at PRUE as she grabs a bowl from the drainer.) Morning. (She pours her cereal.) What’s up with you? (PHOEBE and PRUE share a look.)PRUE: Same old thing. (PAIGE absently nods.)PAIGE: Oh. (She pours milk into her cereal.) How are you feeling? PRUE: Fine. PAIGE: That’s good. (She grabs a spoon from the drawer. PRUE picks at her cuticles, not missing PAIGE’s odd looks at her every time she takes a bite of her breakfast. PRUE sighs.)PRUE: (quietly) I’m keeping it. (The kitchen gets quiet. PAIGE looks up. After a minute, PAIGE nods.)PAIGE: (tonelessly) Congratulations. (PRUE vaguely nods.)PRUE: Do me a favor, (PAIGE looks at her) I haven’t told Piper yet, so… (PAIGE nods.)PAIGE: Yeah, of course. (She shrugs awkwardly.) I’m uh, (she points with her spoon) gonna go get ready to face the day. (She nods to each other her sisters.) I’ll catch you guys later. (She leaves. PHOEBE and PRUE stare at one another.)PRUE: That wasn’t exactly the reaction I thought it would be. PHOEBE: Well, you didn’t expect her to jump for joy, did you? (PRUE doesn’t say anything.) She’s just trying to be respectful. This whole situation is kind of touchy. (PRUE rolls her eyes.)PRUE: As if I hadn’t noticed. BREAK

Act Two
[Scene: Piper and Leo’s house. Master bedroom. PIPER is standing in front of the mirror, wearing long stretchy pink workout pants with a vaguely flared leg and black stripe down the side with a matching rounded back spaghetti strap top made of the same stretchy material. She has her hair pulled back in a ponytail with a black scrunchie and is slipping on a black jacket that has pink stripes down the sides of the arms, reverse of her workout clothes. LEO walks in holding the Twins. PIPER smiles at her children.]PIPER: Ready for class with Mommy? (She picks up MELINDA, who is now dressed in a long sleeved pink onsie with a turtleneck-like collar, then eyes CHRIS, who is dressed in a onsie matching MELINDA’s, but in blue. She smiles, satisfied.)LEO: I didn’t think Mommy & Me started until twelve? PIPER: It doesn’t. (She motions her hand, beckoning LEO to follow her as she leaves the room.) I just have…some errands to run before I go over there. (LEO frowns.)LEO: I went to the store yesterday if that’s what you’re- PIPER: No, just some stuff. (They walk into the kitchen where PIPER’s purse and the Twins’ diaper bag are sitting on the table. PIPER grabs them both and slides them onto her shoulder, then continues out of the kitchen and down the hall.)[Cut to the garage. PIPER and LEO walk in and PIPER moves to the back door of her jeep, unlocking it. She hands the keys off to LEO who goes around to the other side of the car. PIPER sets the diaper bag on the floor of the car and begins to strap MELINDA into her pink car seat as LEO opens up the opposite door and begins to lock CHRIS into his car seat.]PIPER: You know, I think the Twins really enjoy the one-on-one classes, Leo. (She buckles MELINDA’s strap.) I think you should really consider signing up for the Daddy & Me classes; I bet they’d really enjoy it. (LEO nods.)LEO: I was actually considering it, I just… (He shrugs.) Don’t want to get called away in the middle, you know? (PIPER frowns. She looks down at MELINDA.)PIPER: Daddy’s bosses probably would do that, huh? (MELINDA makes a faint noise. PIPER quickly kisses MELINDA’s forehead and then looks up at LEO and CHRIS. LEO gently pats CHRIS’s tummy.)LEO: All tucked in, aren’t we Little Buddy? (LEO and PIPER shut the doors and then LEO moves around to the driver’s side door, where he hands PIPER the keys and they share a quick kiss.) Drive safe. (PIPER smiles.)PIPER: We will. (She gets into her green jeep.) We’ll probably see you between two and three. (PIPER starts the car as the garage door begins to open, allowing a flood of daylight to pour into the garage. LEO shields his eyes and steps back, waving to PIPER. PIPER manages a short wave before backing out and driving off.)[Scene: Manor. Prue’s bedroom. PRUE is staring at her reflection in the mirror. She pulls her tank top taunt, revealing the baby bump hidden underneath. She sighs and releases her tank top, allowing the baby bump to disappear under her clothes again. She picks up her camera off the dresser, turns off the flash, and then takes a picture of herself in the mirror. She gazes at the picture in the camera’s LCD screen, then closes the screen and sets the camera down. PRUE eyes one of the pillows on her bed and holds out her hand. The pillow flies into her hand and she folds it in half, then steps sideways and places it under her tank top. She frowns at the bulging effect. PRUE groans.]PRUE: In six months I’m going to look like an elephant. (She turns to the other side and continues staring at her reflection.) I swear, if I ever see Matt or that Cupid again, I’m going to murder them violently. (She pulls the folded pillow out from under her tank top and tosses it on the bed. Her tank top is now slightly stretched out of shape now. She rolls her eyes.) Fabulous. [Cut to Phoebe’s bedroom. PHOEBE is sitting cross-legged on her bed with her laptop in front of her, typing something up on a Word document. She has earphones in each ear, whose wires run down and connect with a small bright blue iPod. PHOEBE is moving her shoulders and slightly swaying back and forth.]PHOEBE: “We. Are. Fam-i-ly!” (She lifts her hands from the laptop keys and moves her hands in a miming motion.) “I’ve got all my sisters with me! Get up everybody and sing!” (She bobs her head up and down a couple times. A knock sounds at the door, but she doesn’t hear it.) “Everyone can see we’re together, as we walk on byyyy.” (She claps her hands.) “And we fly just like birds of a feather, I won’t tell no liiie!” (Someone knocks again, this time louder, but PHOEBE still doesn’t hear.) “All of the people around us they say, can they be that close.” (She grins and claps her hands together again.) “Just let me state for the record, we’re giving love in a family do-ose!” (Finally, the knock turns into a bang.)PAIGE’s VOICE: Phoebe! (PHOEBE blinks. She looks over her shoulder to see the door vibrating a little and she pulls her earphones out to hear an annoyed knocking.)PHOEBE: Ooops. (She hops off the bed and moves to the door, unlocking and opening it. PAIGE, now with her hair smoothed out but still in her pajamas, is standing on the other side.)PAIGE: (smirking) I didn’t know you sing. (She walks in as PHOEBE turns a little red as she shuts the door. PAIGE sits down on PHOEBE’s bed.)PHOEBE: Oh shut up. (She moves her laptop to the floor and sits down next to her younger sister.) What’s up? PAIGE: So, when did she tell you? PHOEBE: Uh…when she told you. PAIGE: Liar. (She makes a mock dance move.) What happened to, (mimicking PHOEBE) “I won’t tell no liiie”? (PHOEBE makes a face.)PHOEBE: Okay, fine, (she slumps forward) she told me this morning, when I caught her looking at the family tree in the attic. (pause) How’d you know? PAIGE: I was the only one surprised. PHOEBE: Oh. (pause) Yeah… (pause) It wasn’t like she purposely told me first though, I kind of prodded it out of her. (PAIGE shakes her head.)PAIGE: It’s fine. (After a minute, she smiles.) I’m just glad she decided to keep it though, even if we don’t have any place to put a baby around here. (PHOEBE laughs.)PHOEBE: I still can’t believe we’re going to have a baby in the Manor, though. I mean, it was the last thing I expected after Piper and Leo moved out. (PAIGE nods.) Just imagine all the child proofing we’re going to have to do! PAIGE: Too bad we can’t demon proof too. PHOEBE: Ooh, yeah, speaking of, you’re gonna have to bless some new crystals for the Manor. (She shakes her head.) Luckily we have like six months. (PAIGE wags her finger.)PAIGE: Don’t let time fool you, it’s not as long as it seems. (The doorbell rings. PAIGE and PHOEBE look at each other.) Isn’t it too early for visitors? (PHOEBE shrugs and gets off the bed.)PHOEBE: Could be Darryl. PAIGE: As much as I like him, I hope not. (She yawns.) I’m not in the mood for demon hunting today. (They leave the room.)[Cut to the entry way. PRUE walks up to the door and answers it. She finds PIPER, with the Twins in their car seats, on the porch. PRUE blinks, surprised.]PRUE: (at the same time as PIPER) Piper. PIPER: (at the same time as PRUE) Prue. (PRUE steps aside.)PRUE: I didn’t realize you were coming over. (PIPER picks up the handles of the Twins’ car seats and carries them over the threshold.)PIPER: It was actually last minute. PRUE: Oh. (She shuts the door as PHOEBE and PAIGE come down the stairs, talking to each other. They notice PRUE, PIPER, and the Twins and stop. PHOEBE looks around, then grabs PAIGE’s wrist and pulls her down the stairs.)PHOEBE: Oh look! (She nudges PAIGE purposefully.) Our niece and nephew. (PAIGE nods overenthusiastically as they walk over to the Twins. PHOEBE grabs MELINDA’s carrier and PAIGE grabs CHRIS’s. PHOEBE points to the stairs.)PHOEBE: (to PIPER) Mind if we take them upstairs? PIPER: Well, actually- PAIGE: Great, thanks! (She and PHOEBE hurriedly leave. PRUE and PIPER stare awkwardly at each other. PRUE picks her cuticles.)PIPER: (dryly) It’s almost like they’re trying to tell us something. (PRUE laughs, in spite of herself. PIPER manages a weak smile.)PRUE: Yeah… (pause) Did you (she shrugs) need something here? PIPER: Well, actually… (She looks away.) This is actually what I came over for. (PRUE looks a little confused. PIPER takes a deep breath.) I just, uhm, (she looks at PRUE again) wanted to…apologize. PRUE: (surprised) Apologize? PIPER: Yeah…I think it goes something like… (She looks PRUE in the eyes.) I’m sorry. (PRUE stops picking her cuticles.) I know I’ve been pretty nasty to you lately, and I just want you to know that I’m sorry. (She looks down.) I guess everything that happened with Demitrius just came flooding back to me and-and…it really isn’t the same thing, and I shouldn’t have acted the way I did. It wasn’t fair to you. I should’ve been your sister, not your enemy. I’m sorry. (PRUE takes PIPER’s hand.)PRUE: I’m sorry too. (This time PIPER looks surprised.)PIPER: For what? PRUE: Not coming to you guys earlier…and what I said, about it not being about you. (pause) I should’ve realized the effect it would’ve had on you, given everything that’s happened. PIPER: No, you were right to take things in on your own terms. You’ve spent your whole life thinking about everyone but you. PRUE: But haven’t I always been the one to say that what effects one of us effects all of us? I think a baby kind of falls right into the category, you know. (She squeezes PIPER’s hand.) But thank you, what you said means a lot to me. (PIPER nods.)PIPER: I want you to know that whatever you decide, I’m still here for you. (PRUE nods.)PRUE: I know. (pause) Uhm… (pause) You don’t have time to grab a coffee or something, do you? (PIPER makes a face.)PIPER: I actually have an appointment to get my car serviced and then I’m taking the Twins to our Mommy & Me session. (PRUE purses her lips.) Sorry… (pause) You wouldn’t want to (she shrugs) go to Mommy & Me with us, would you? (PRUE opens her mouth to respond.) But if you don’t, that’s fine too. No pressure or- (PRUE holds up her hand, silencing PIPER. She smiles.)PRUE: I’d like that. [Cut to the railing at the top of the stairs. PHOEBE and PAIGE are leaning over, it, trying to listen to PRUE and PIPER’s conversation. They turn to each other excitedly.]PHOEBE: (whispering) Well, it’s about time! PAIGE: (whispering) Tell me about it. BREAK

Act Three
[Scene: Recreational gym. Women with babies ranging from three to five months old fill the room, are all sitting on a blue mat. The INSTRUCTOR is at the front of the room, on a red mat with a baby. She is kneeling before the baby, with her thumbs pressed to the babies fists and her fingers are wrapped about the baby’s.]INSTRUCTOR: Now say, “Up we go! Up! Up! Up!” and gently pull your baby’s arms towards you. PIPER: (to CHRIS) Up we go! Up! Up! Up! (She grins down at CHRIS as she pulls his arms towards her. Beside her, MELINDA keeps grabbing PRUE’s fingers.)PRUE: Hey Piper, this isn’t working so well. (PIPER glances over. She laughs.)PIPER: That’s because you have to have your thumbs on her wrists, otherwise she grabs you (she points) like she’s doing right now. INSTRUCTOR: Now say, “Down we go! Down! Down! Down!” as you help your child retract his or her arms. PIPER: Down we go! Down! Down! Down! (She helps CHRIS put his arms down in unison with the rest of the Mommy & Me class.)INSTRUCTOR: Now let’s repeat this exercise five more times. (The Mommy & Me class begins the exercise again in time with the INSTRUCTOR, while PIPER leans over and takes PRUE’s hands.)PIPER: Here, like this. (She adjusts PRUE’s hands against MELINDA’s.) See? Now she can’t grab you anymore. (PRUE nods. PIPER turns back to CHRIS and takes his hands again.) Now you begin to lift her arms, but slowly, and say, (she looks at CHRIS) “up we go! Up! Up! Up!” PRUE: How is that supposed to help? PIPER: This exercise helps babies with their developing muscle coordination. Speaking to them is just a reinforcement…and it’s calming. (to CHRIS) Down we go! Down! Down! Down! (to PRUE) Come on, give it a try. (PRUE rolls her eyes a little, then begins to lift MELINDA's arms.)PRUE: Up we go! (PIPER laughs.) Up! Up! Up! (MELINDA makes a friendly noise.)PIPER: You’re doing great! (PRUE begins to help MELINDA put her arms down.)PRUE: Down we go! Down! Down! Down! PIPER: That was perfect! (MELINDA makes a gurgling noise.)PRUE: (to MELINDA) Did you like that? (to PIPER) I think she likes that. (PIPER nods.)PIPER: Yeah, they really enjoy the classes. Usually I have to alternate them, though. (pause) Hey, maybe you should come to Mommy & Me with us more often? (PRUE gently moves up MELINDA’s arms.)PRUE: (to MELINDA) Up we go! Up! Up! Up! (to PIPER) Maybe I will. (PIPER helps CHRIS to lay his arms down.)PIPER: Down we go! Down! Down! Down! INSTRUCTOR: Great job, everyone! I think we can take a quick ten minute break now. (The mothers collect their babies and the class begins to herd towards the door, but PRUE and PIPER stay put.)PRUE: How long does the class go ‘til? PIPER: It’s just an hour. (She moves to scoop up CHRIS, when she notices him making a puffy red face. PRUE snickers.)PRUE: I remember that face, Phoebe used to make it all the time when she- PIPER: (dryly) Yeah. (She picks up her son, who looks rather contended now.) I guess it’s time for a diaper change then, isn’t it? (PRUE scoops up MELINDA and together the sisters head for the door.)PRUE: Do they have any snacks around here? PIPER: Uh… (She wrinkles her nose.) I think there’s a vending machine down the hall. (She reaches for her pocket.) Do you need change? (PRUE shakes her head.)PRUE: I’m good. (She hands MELINDA to PIPER.)PIPER: The bathroom’s down that way, (she points to the opposite end of the hall) which is where I’m headed. (PRUE nods and they head opposite ways. A few moments later, PRUE happens upon the vending machine and studies the snacks inside. Finally, she drops in sixty-five cents and presses “D4” and the machine begins to push forward a packet of Skittles. Unfortunately, it gets stuck on the edge of the wrapper and won’t fall. PRUE slaps the machine a few times, but it won’t work. She grunts, then glances around and kneels down, sticking her hand into the drop door. She wiggles her fingers and the Skittles back falls into her hand. She pulls it out, satisfied with herself, then tears it open as she heads back down the hallway towards the bathroom.)[Cut to the bathroom. CHRIS is laying on the fold up changing table, while MELINDA is now in her baby carrier, which is on the floor next to PIPER. PIPER wrinkles her nose as she folds up CHRIS’s dirty diaper.]PIPER: Oh, Chris, (she waves her hand in the air as she turns and takes the diaper to the trashcan) as grateful as I am that your formula helps your colic, I’m beginning to think it has the opposite effect on these. (She holds up the diaper and then throws it away. PIPER moves back to the changing table and pulls out a new diaper, portable wipes, and baby powder from the diaper bag which is sitting on the sink. She begins to clean up her son. Meanwhile, a demon shimmers in. CHRIS begins to cry.) Oh, Chris, you’re okay. (The demon freezes, but begins to fight the freeze and slowly break free from it. MELINDA starts to cry.) Oh no, not you too, Mel. Mommy’s almost done with Chris. (PRUE walks in. She sees the demon break out of MELINDA’s freeze.)PRUE: Piper! (PRUE waves her hand, but her power only makes him stumble. As PIPER looks up, the demon lunges at her. PRUE’s head drops to her chest and ASTRAL PRUE appears between the demon and PIPER. ASTRAL PRUE throws a series of fast punches, sending the demon sprawling into one of the stalls. PIPER makes a grab for MELINDA’s carrier as ASTRAL PRUE vanishes.)[Cut to the astral plane. The SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN is anxiously watching the blurs fly by him. Suddenly, he sees a particularly bright red blur heading his way.]SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: Oh, you’re fast, I’ll give you that, (he steps in the blur’s path) but you’re not getting by me a second time! (He claps his hands together, catching the blur in his hands.) Gotcha! [Cut back to the women’s bathroom in the recreational gym. PRUE’s body suddenly collapses to the floor at the same time the demon emerges from the stall. The demon forms a fireball and aims it at PIPER, but before it can reach her, it freezes. Without thinking, PIPER swats at the fireball with her hand. As her hand connects, it burns her, but knocks the fireball out of the freeze and pushes it in the other direction. It hits the demon and he explodes. PIPER yelps at her burn, but it’s quickly forgotten when she realizes PRUE is still lying unconscious on the floor. PIPER gets down on her knees next to her sister, while still holding CHRIS, and checks PRUE’s pulse. A woman walks in and sees PRUE and PIPER.]WOMAN: Oh my God! (PIPER looks up.)PIPER: Call nine-one-one! [Scene: Manor. Upstairs bathroom. PAIGE is leaning over the sink, very close to the mirror as she applies shimmery pink lip gloss to her lips. PHOEBE walks in. She squints.]PHOEBE: Is that my tube top? (PAIGE caps her lip gloss and stands back.)PAIGE: Maybe. (She makes a face.) You don’t mind, do you? (PHOEBE motions her hand.)PHOEBE: Turn around. (PAIGE does a spin.)PAIGE: It goes perfect with my skirt (she places her fingers to her khaki colored knee length skirt with a pink belt) and so I didn’t think- PHOEBE: It looks great, actually. (She smirks.) And you can wear it if you give me some sink time. PAIGE: Oh, right. (She steps aside, allowing PHOEBE access to the sink.) Thanks. (PHOEBE turns on the water and begins to splash her face with it.)PHOEBE: You wouldn’t happen to be going on a early morning date with someone whose name rhymes with Zen, would you? (PAIGE grins.)PAIGE: Perhaps. (She flashes PHOEBE a perky grin.) Perhaps it could be a brunch date, perhaps followed by a stroll at our place by the lake, perhaps followed by some kissing and- (PHOEBE holds up her hand.)PHOEBE: Perhaps I get the idea. (The phone rings.)PAIGE: (excitedly) Perhaps that’s Glenn! (She grins as it rings again.) I’m gonna go get that! (She runs off. PHOEBE laughs as she turns off the water and grabs a hand towel to dry her face with.)[Scene: Bay General. Waiting room. PIPER is holding CHRIS as she stands with a female doctor.]DOCTOR: We’re still running tests, but as of yet, we’re not sure what’s wrong with your sister. Other than a lower than usual pulse, she seems to be fine, albeit conscious, of course. PIPER: How long do you think she’s going to be out? Will be so okay? DOCTOR: Fainting is not an unusual symptom for pregnant women, it could simply be a lack of nutrition, or lack of oxygen to the brain…since we haven’t detected anything other problems, I’d say that you sister should wake up on her own, though I’m unable to give you a timeframe. (LEO walks up with MELINDA.)PIPER: (to the DOCTOR) Can I see her? (The DOCTOR looks at her watch.)DOCTOR: I’d think so, but let me check to make sure. (PIPER nods. The DOCTOR walks away.)LEO: Phoebe and Paige are on their way. (They sit down in the waiting chairs.) How’s she doing? (PIPER shrugs.)PIPER: They just said she’s unconscious and they don’t know why. (She blinks.) Are there demons that can cause something like that to happen? (LEO moves to touch PIPER’s hand, but she winces. He notices the burn.)LEO: When did you get this? (He turns her hand over.)PIPER: When the demon attacked. (He discretely places his hand over hers and heals the burn.) He was barely affected by Prue’s power. LEO: Wait, you said she astral projected right before she fell down, right? (PIPER nods. She looks curiously at her husband.)PIPER: What’re you thinking? LEO: What if her astral self just never made it back to her body? PIPER: What do you mean? LEO: That would explain why she fainted, and why there doesn’t appear to be any other symptoms. PIPER: But how is that even possible? (LEO shakes his head.)LEO: I don’t know. (The DOCTOR returns.)DOCTOR: Mrs. Halliwell? (PIPER looks up anxiously.) You can see your sister now. BREAK

Act Four
[Scene: Bay General. Prue’s hospital room. PIPER is sitting at PRUE’s bedside, holding her sister’s limp hand. On the other side of the bed, LEO is seated with the Twins. PHOEBE and PAIGE rush in.]PHOEBE: We came as fast as we could. PAIGE: What happened? PIPER: She blacked out during a demon attack while we were at Mommy & Me. PHOEBE: What did the demon look like? (PIPER shrugs.)PIPER: Huge, black clothes… PAIGE: Powers? PIPER: He threw a fireball at us. (pause) I guess he was probably upper level, too, because Prue’s power didn’t work on him. PHOEBE: Did he get away? PIPER: I vanquished him with his own fireball. (PHOEBE moves around the bed.)PHOEBE: Did he do anything to Prue that you saw? (PIPER shakes her head.)LEO: There’s a possibility that it could have something to do with her astral not making it back to her body. PAIGE: Do you want me to orb home and check the Book? (PIPER nods.) So, what exactly am looing for? Just anything on astral projection? Or astral demons? LEO: Or soul stealing demons. Technically, an astral projection is the consciousness, or soul, leaving the body and taking a corporeal form in another location. (PAIGE nods. As she starts to orb out, PHOEBE takes PRUE’s left hand and makes a sharp gasping noise. PAIGE’s orbs vanish as she turns her eyes, along with LEO’s and PIPER’s, to PHOEBE.)[Premonition: The SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN is fighting to contain a neon glowing red light in his hands. His hands are shaking violently and suddenly the light bursts from between his fingers and breaks his hands apart. The light quickly forms into ASTRAL PRUE, who takes a fighting stance.]SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: You’re far more powerful than I expected. (ASTRAL PRUE aims a punch, but he holds up his hand, halting her movement inches from his face. ASTRAL PRUE attempts to move her hand, but can’t.) You’re in my domain. (He motions his hand again and she falls down.)ASTRAL PRUE: (venomously) Who are you? (The SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN looks around the astral plane.)SEMI-TRANSPARENT MAN: A prisoner here…just like you. [Cut back to the present. PRUE's hand falls from PHOEBE’s grasp.]PHOEBE: I think I just saw Prue…or at least her astral self. [Time lapse. PHOEBE and PAIGE are in the attic at the Manor. PAIGE is turning the pages in the Book of Shadows.]PAIGE: (mumbling) Astrals…souls…soul stealers…astral demons…astral soul stealers…none of these are in- PHOEBE: Wait! (PAIGE stops.)PAIGE: What? (She looks down at the page.)PHOEBE: Go back. (PAIGE starts to turn the pages back. PHOEBE stops her.)PHOEBE: A page on spirits. (PAIGE gazes down the page. PHOEBE presses her index finger to the last entry on the page.) “Spirit Mover.” PAIGE: A classification of ghost who “intercepts those spirits moving through the astral plane and bends them to his will.” (PHOEBE nods.)PHOEBE: That would make sense both with what Piper said and my premonition. PAIGE: But it doesn’t say how to vanquish one of these things. (PHOEBE starts to turn the pages.)PHOEBE: Well, we do have a Spirit-to-Spirit Vanquishing Spell in here somewhere. PAIGE: Spirit-to-Spirit? PHOEBE: Yeah, Prue used it once a couple years ago on this Alcatraz spirit named Jackson Ward. (She finds the page.) Yeah, see, right here. (PAIGE looks over the spell.)PAIGE: But you have to be dead to say the spell. PHOEBE: No, just a spirit. (She points to the bottom of the page.) See, spirits have to be vanquished on their plane, the astral plane. Being a spirit, or ghost, automatically links them to the astral plane, even if they appear to be on our plane. Anyway, if we could somehow get a message to Prue, she might be able to say the spell and vanquish this ghost with it. PAIGE: But she’s not a spirit. PHOEBE: Weren’t you listening to Leo? (PAIGE folds her arms.) Prue’s astral self is her spirit. When we cast this spell before, she didn’t have astral projection yet, but now that she does, I bet she could vanquish him by saying it in her astral form. PAIGE: And by doing that, you think that it would release her astral self from the astral plane? PHOEBE: Exactly. PAIGE: Okay…so the question is, how do we get Prue to realize that she has to say (she stabs the page with her index finger) this spell? [Scene: Astral plane. ASTRAL PRUE is staring fiercely at the SPIRIT MOVER.]ASTRAL PRUE: A prisoner? What do you mean? (The SPIRIT MOVER snorts.)SPIRIT MOVER: Don’t try to talk me out of freeing you. I know all about good witches. (He points an accusatory finger.) It’s your kind that imprisoned me here. ASTRAL PRUE: Are you a demon? (The SPIRIT MOVER merely smiles at her.) Fine, if you don’t want to cooperate with me, then I will vanquish you. SPIRIT MOVER: You can’t vanquish me. ASTRAL PRUE: All demons can be vanquished. SPIRIT MOVER: If I were you, I’d be more worried about saving your strength. The more energy you expend in your astral form, the weaker you become the longer you’re away from your physical body…and you look like a smart witch, so I assume you know where I’m heading with this information? (Instead of saying anything, ASTRAL PRUE just looks down at herself, knowing that if she doesn’t get back to her body soon, her physical self with perish.)[Scene: Brick house. Kitchen. A witch is bent over, pouring dog food from a large back into some dog dishes. Two golden retrievers are standing anxiously by her, wagging their tails impatiently.]WOMAN: Patience, boys, I’m almost done. (Near the entrance of the kitchen, LILLITH appears, dressed in a white doctor’s lab coat. The dogs stop wagging their tails and begin to growl and bark. LILLITH smiles wickedly as a fireball appears in her palm. As the dogs’ barks get louder, the woman finally turns around. She gasps and the bag of dog food drops to the tile floor, spilling everywhere. LILLITH throws the fireball, hitting the woman square in the chest and blasting her onto her back. One dog lingers behind, licking his wounded mistress as the other charges at LILLITH, who promptly vanishes.)[Scene: Bay General. Prue’s hospital room. LEO’s face contorts. PIPER looks alarmed.]PIPER: Leo? (LEO gets up suddenly.)LEO: It’s one of my charges. (He passes MELINDA and CHRIS across to PIPER.) I have to go. (He quickly orbs out.)[Cut to a hallway. LILLITH appears. She looks around, a clipboard appears in her hands, then exits the hallway and makes her way up to the information desk. The RECEPTIONIST squints at her, but sees the nametag and smiles politely.]RECEPTIONIST: How can I help you, Dr. Lillith? (LILLITH looks down at her clipboard.)LILLITH: There’s a patient in room two-twelve. (The RECEPTIONIST nods.) A Prue Halliwell? (The RECEPTIONIST types the name into the computer.)RECEPTIONIST: Is there a problem? LILLITH: Yes…it seems that her sister hasn’t filled out the correct insurance information. (The RECEPTIONIST squints, confused.)RECEPTIONIST: It looks as though everything’s in order. LILLITH: Does it? (She looks at her clipboard again.) Well, there’s a discrepancy then. (She casually motions her hand in the direction of the computer.) Why not take a closer look, just to be certain? (Again, the RECEPTIONIST looks at the computer. She begins to scroll down, then stops, flustered.)RECEPTIONIST: Oh. Oh! (Her face blushes.) I can’t believe I didn’t see this before. LILLITH: You’ll have her come down and fix it then. RECEPTIONIST: Yes, of course. LILLITH: (demandingly) Now. RECEPTIONIST: Right. (She picks up her phone and dials something in. LILLITH turns away with a wicked smile on her face.)[Cut to Prue’s hospital room. PIPER is nervously chewing her lip as she stares at her unconscious sister. Suddenly, her cell phone begins to ring from her purse, which is sitting on the floor beside her. She kicks her purse, then maneuvers around the Twins in her lap, and grabs her cell, flipping it open one handedly.]PIPER: Hello? (pause) What? But I’ve already filled out… (She glances at PRUE.) No, I just- (She sighs.) Alright, I’m just down the hall. I’ll be right there. (She hangs up and looks down at the Twins, then back at PRUE.) I’ll be right back, I promise. (She grabs her purse and heads out of the room.)[Cut to the end of the hallway. LILLITH is standing near another group of conversing doctors. She watches PIPER head in the opposite direction with the Twins and smiles devilishly. She taps her chin with a pen as PIPER disappears around the corner, then, when nobody is watching, she vanishes.]

Act Five
[Scene: Brick house. Kitchen. LEO helps his charge off the floor. The golden retrievers are moving anxiously around their legs.]LEO: Yona, do you have any idea who attacked you? (YONA shakes her head.)YONA: No…I’d never seen her before. (pause) But it was strange, it was almost like I wasn’t a primary goal for her. LEO: What do you mean? YONA: I mean, that fireball was strong, but I don’t think she wanted to kill me. I mean, why just attack me and leave? (LEO shakes his head.)LEO: I’ll go consult The Elders. (pause) Do you remember what she looked like? Anything distinguishing? YONA: No. (pause) Wait. (She holds up her finger.) She did have on a white coat. Like…like a doctor. (LEO creases his brow.)LEO: A doctor? (YONA nods. LEO looks alarmed.) Piper! YONA: What? LEO: You were a distraction, whoever attacked you wants Piper…or Prue. (He shakes his head.) I have get back to them. YONA: But- LEO: Go to your sister’s and stay there, just in case. (YONA nods and LEO orbs out.)[Scene: Manor. Attic. PHOEBE and PAIGE are there.]PAIGE: Couldn’t we just summon someone from the dead and have them go to the astral plane? (PHOEBE shakes her head.)PHOEBE: It’s not that simple. (The motions to the open page in the book labeled “Astral Plane.”) This plane is one parallel with ours, which means that ghosts or spirits still stuck here- PAIGE: You mean the ones with unfinished business? PHOEBE: Yes, those are still tethered to the astral plane. But the ones that have already passed on, like Mom and Grams, aren’t. The afterlife is somewhere completely on its own, which means they couldn’t transfer between here and the astral plane, even if we summoned them. (PAIGE grunts.)PAIGE: Well…what if we wrote a spell to duplicate astral projection? Then one of us could astral project to the astral plane. I mean, (she shrugs) it’s not like we haven’t temporarily duplicated our powers before? PHOEBE: But usually that involves our blood in a potion form. PAIGE: So, we get a sample of Prue’s blood and make an astral projection potion from it. (PHOEBE slowly nods.)PHOEBE: Okay, okay, maybe that could work. (She holds out her hand.) Let’s go get a sample. (PAIGE takes PHOEBE’s hand and they orb out.)[Scene: Bay General. Reception desk. PIPER finishes filling out a form as LEO frantically runs up from the direction of the hallway leading down to PRUE’s room.]LEO: (urgently) Piper! (PIPER looks up.)PIPER: Leo- LEO: No time! (He grabs MELINDA's carrier.) Prue’s in trouble. PIPER: What? (She tosses the clipboard onto the desk and grabs CHRIS’s carrier. They begin to head for the hallway.)RECEPTIONIST: Mrs. Halliwell! (She grabs the clipboard, but PIPER and LEO are already racing away.)[Cut to the hallway outside Prue’s hospital room. PAIGE and PHOEBE orb in.]PAIGE: What the hell- PHOEBE: Paige! (She looks around, wide eyed.) Are you crazy? What if someone saw us?! (She reaches for the door handle.)PAIGE: It’s not me! I orbed for the room! (The door handle shocks PHOEBE’s hand. She pulls it back, painfully. PIPER and LEO run up.)LEO: The room, it’s magically sealed! [Cut to inside the room. The pink hospital blanket has been pulled down to PRUE’s knees and her bare stomach is exposed. LILLITH is standing over her with her hands raised. She anxiously leans forward and presses both of her hands to PRUE’s bare baby bump. LILLITH’s form instantly goes rigid and her pupils dilate as her mouth slips into an “O” shape. Her breath catches in her throat and suddenly her dark reddish-brown hair begins to blow and a static crackling sound ripples through the air.]
[Cut to the astral plane. ASTRAL PRUE suddenly gasps and clutches her stomach. The SPIRIT MOVER narrows his eyes.]SPIRIT MOVER: (suspiciously) What are you doing? (ASTRAL PRUE slips to her knees and gasps.)[Cut to Prue’s hospital room. An energy ripple emanates between LILLITH’s hands and PRUE’s stomach. The shockwave spreads across the room, but LILLITH, whose eyes are still dilated and hair is still blowing wildly, doesn’t seem to notice. The shockwave crashes the monitors in the room and then hits the door, causing a combusting noise.]
[Cut to the hallway outside Prue’s hospital room. There’s a firecracker-like popping noise against the door, then it swings open and the shockwave hits the three sisters, LEO, and the Twins. However, only PHOEBE falls backwards, prompting PAIGE to catch her.]PIPER: Phoebe! PHOEBE: What the hell was that? PAIGE: We need to get to Prue. (PIPER reaches to shove the door open, but LEO grabs her hand, fearing it will shock her. Instead, he kicks it, but this time it doesn’t shock him. PIPER darts in before he can stop her. PAIGE, PHOEBE, and LEO follow. As they enter, they see LILLITH still standing over PRUE, with her hands on PRUE's belly.)PHOEBE: Paige, get her out of here! (PAIGE runs to PRUE’s side and places a hand to PRUE’s hand, while PHOEBE runs at LILLITH, backhanding her across the face. The action breaks LILLITH’s physical bond with PRUE, but a static jolt seems to pass between PHOEBE and LILLITH, similar to the one between PRUE and LILLITH, though on a smaller scale. PHOEBE grabs PRUE’s other hand as PAIGE starts to orb out. However, a static flash passes from PHOEBE, through PRUE, and to PAIGE and instead of orbing out, PHOEBE and PAIGE turn rigid.)[Cut to the astral plane. ASTRAL PRUE suddenly vanishes. The SPIRIT MOVER grabs at the place where she was, but his semi-transparent hand swipes through her astral flare.]
[Premonition: There is screaming coming from a crowd of three women, all of whom are dressed in very late 1600’s clothing. In the far corner of the room, a ruby colored astral flare flashes, depositing ASTRAL PAIGE, PAIGE PRUE, and ASTRAL PHOEBE appear, hands still interlocked. The sisters look around, bewildered.]ASTRAL PAIGE: Prue! (ASTRAL PRUE sees the women.)ASTRAL PRUE: Shh! (She looks around.) Where are we? (ASTRAL PHOEBE's eyes are locked on the women.)ASTRAL PHOEBE: (whispering) My god… (to ASTRAL PRUE and ASTRAL PAIGE) I think we’re inside my premonition. ASTRAL PRUE: (blurting) What? (A wooden door to their left swings open and a little girl, roughly two-years-old or so, toddles in, holding a hand sewn doll with button eyes and brown yarn hair.)LITTLE GIRL: Ma-ma, Ma-ma! (She suddenly stops halfway through and turns, gazing in the astral sisters’ direction. She blinks, then continues over to the group of women.)ASTRAL PAIGE: (whispering to ASTRAL PHOEBE) How can we be in your premonition? (ASTRAL PHOEBE motions her hand.)ASTRAL PHOEBE: (whispering) Just pay attention. (As the group of women part, a particularly loud scream fills the room. Revealed propped up on a bed is a blonde woman, with sweaty matted hair sticking to her scrunched red face. Her legs are popped up and her belly is swollen as she’s about to give birth. ASTRAL PHOEBE’s mouth drops open. On the bed, MELINDA WARREN yowls again. WOMAN #1 steps to the edge of the bed and WOMAN #2 hands WOMAN #1 a pair of scissors. A moment later, there’s a loud infant sob. WOMAN #1 moves and wraps a bloody infant in her white apron, while WOMAN #3 picks up the LITTLE GIRL and sets her on the bed beside MELINDA. WOMAN #1 moves to a dresser, wiping the afterbirth off the newborn with a sponge, then hands the child to WOMAN #2, who wraps it in a blanket and hands the infant to MELINDA. MELINDA smiles warmly down at the child in her arms and then moves one arm to pull the dark haired little girl close to her.)MELINDA: Prudence, meet your brother. (The jaws of ASTRAL PRUE, ASTRAL PHOEBE, and ASTRAL PAIGE drop. At that moment, the three of them disappear in a sweeping astral flash.)
