Hey guys, I'm writing a fanfiction and I was wondering if you had a witch who's base power is levitation, how would her power advance to a new one and what would it be? Except flight.

She could levitate other people/objects.

To answer the question of what a natural advancement would be, you first have to know what actually causes the character to levitate in the first place? There were 6 potential forces that came to my mind as possible causes for levitation, that would then influence the direction of any new advancements.

1) Magnetic - Levitation occurs via manipulating the Earth's electromagnetic field, thus manipulating gravity itself around her. Advancements would be gravity based, or based on the forces of magnetism. (Example: Magneto or Graviton)

2) Psionic - Using the mind to create an invisible psychic force to obtain lift. Advancements would be mind based (Examples: Psylocke or Invisible Woman

3) Air - Levitation occurs by manipulating the air to create an upward thrust Advancements would be any wind, air, or weather control based. (Examples: Storm or Cyclone

4) Aura - Manipulates own magical aura to be concentrated near the feet to create lift. This is similiar to psionic but much more limited in scope as while psychic energy is basically created out of nothingness and limited in quantity only by the willpower of the user, an aura exists in an limited quantity which can only be redirected (redirecting would have the side-effect of leaving other areas exposed). Advancements would be similiar to the telekinetic aspects of psionic. TK, small constructs, as well as a few wrinkles such as aura masking, or tapping into the auras of others.

5) Vibration - Levitation occurs by creating a sonic vibration below to create an upward thrust. Advancements would be of sound/soundwave control/manipulation based.

6) "Spiritual" - Levitation occurs with the aid of an invisible spirit(s)/being/god that provide the lift. Advancements would be in the interaction with the entity.
