[Fourever Charmed]

Has anyone else seen it? It's one of my new favorite shows this season on ABC (which I boycotted since it cancelled Commander in Chief). I accidentally found out about EW via advertisements on Facebook and curiosity drove me to visit the Facebook Eastwick Fan Page[/b][/u] and watched the pilot promos and was instantly hooked.

Basically, it's about three women (Roxie Torcoletti [Rebecca Romijn], Kat Gardner [Jamie Ray Newman], and Joanna Frankel [Lindsay Price]) who live in Eastwick, Maine (a town steeped in witchcraft and witchy lore) that find special coins and make wishes on a Triple Goddess fountain in the town square. The coins collide and unlock their witchy powers that they are completely unaware of. At the same time, a handsome and devious new man, Darryl Van Horne, comes into Eastwick and begins to stir up all kinds of intrigue and suspicion.



Personally, I think it's amazing. The characters are witty, hilarious, and unique (especially in comparison with all the typical reality, crime scene, medical, and teen dramas that keep cropping up) and yes, it does remind me of Charmed. No, it's not a cheesy Charmed ripoff, but it does fill me with the same enthusiasm about magic that Charmed did. I think a lot of Charmed fans would like it, it airs Wednesdays at 10:00 P.M. PST. (The next new episode isn't until November 25.)

Problem is, ABC is full of a bunch of idiots and cancelled Eastwick due to ratings not being what they wanted. (If they moved it to an earlier time and actually advertised it more, I think they could drastically improve ratings.) So I'm kind of hell bent on saving the show. Rumors have been circling that Lifetime may want to pick the show up, or potentially TNT. I've already sent e-mails to ABC asking them to reconsider (prior to the cancellation), then again afterwards explaining I will be boycotting again once the new episodes are over, and then I wrote to CBS, The CW, and Lifetime expressing my interest in them picking up the show. I've also been voting on Kristin Dos Santos' Fall TV SOS: Save One Endangered New Show[/b][/u] where Eastwick is kicking serious ass in the polls. (Right now it's at 28.1% of votes and the next highest is Three Rivers at 17.7%.)

So if anyone's a fan, or if you're interested in tuning in, or if you just want to help in the effort to save the show, please go to Kristin's site and vote Eastwick. I've also got links to a host of online petitions in case anyone wants to sign. And links to Lifetime, The CW, and CBS in case anyone wants to message them about picking up Eastwick.

Damn. Now I'm sad. I was really getting into Eastwick, especially seeing as how utterly crap a bunch of my other favorite shows have gotten in the last year or so.

Anyways, I voted. Eastwick is still winning. On something like 29.1% of the votes now.

Ah! I know! So many other shows are going down hill and Eastwick was so fresh and fun and reminded me a lot of what I used to love about Charmed. Really, do we need more crappy reality? Or CSI-esq shows? Or medical dramas? Or teen soap operas? Eastwick was such a gem. ABC is headed by idiots. As you can tell, I'm really pissed about this. I don't think I've ever fought for a show this hard before. I really hope another network picks it up after seeing the fans' out cry.

Yeah I've learned long ago not to ever trust a new show on ABC. That's why I did not watch Eastwick (no Nielson box, so I didn't count against it) and as much as I'm curious about the new "V", I'm not going anywhere near it until at least a half season of episodes have aired as by then there should be a good idea as to whether or not it's too expensive to produce compared to it's ratings...otherwise I know I'll get into it and it will be cancelled before it can go anywhere. Maybe once Eastwick airs it's final eps, I might watch it or get the DVDs, but I'll be prepared enough to not let myself get attached.

Out of curiousity did any of you ever see the old movie or read the book that Eastwick is somewhat adapted from?

Eastwick got canceled? Wow, that was fast. I only watched one episode but because of the time it was on I was unable to watch it regularly.

from watching the trailer it looks like its based on the film "The Witches of Eastwick" or at least similar, I could be wrong though.
I think I might sign the petition even though I can't watch over in UK but still... it might come over

Yeah, apparently it has its roots in the book and the original film adaption, but the characters are only based off the characters from the book/film, they aren't supposed to be the exact same characters. (From what the show makes it sound like, there have been past "trifectas" of Eastwick witches and Roxie, Kat, and Joanna just happen to be Eastwick's current generation.)

Interesting the Eastwick is still kicking some serious ass -- 40.3% of the votes. The closest "competitor" is Three Rivers with 19.5%.

Am I the only one not surprised by this?

And despite that, it looks like ABC is putting Ugly Betty into Eastwick's timeslot, which means the last two unaired Eastwick episodes - which were supposed to be aired - won't air now. Interestingly enough, I had also heard that UB had even less viewership/ratings than EW did, yet they decided to pick up UB and not EW (and then have UB steal EW's timeslot and cancel the last two episodes - a whole hell of a lot of sense that makes).

It just makes me want to murder the people in charge over at ABC. What assholes! I'm sorry, but really? Their complete disregard for the fans (not to mention the actresses/actors/writers/and everyone else who makes Eastwick a cut above the rest) makes my blood boil.

Ughhh! And according to Wikipedia, Rebecca Romijn [Roxie] was in Ugly Betty. That has got to be a real slap in the face.

The ABC is seriously pathetic. I pity the idiots who run it. I wonder how long it will take them to realize they are destroying the network?

Oh, and have you heard anything on the subject of another network picking up Eastwick?

CBS Feedback - For the Regarding category, choose "Other - Not Listed" in the drop down box. It's the last option under PRIMETIME.

Lifetime Feedback - This one's a little confusing. The link will take you to a page with different colored link boxes. Click the top orange box that says "Lifetime" (when you run your mouse over it it will says "Shows and Movies"), which will then take you to a page that asks you which one you want to learn more about so you click the "Shows" option and "Continue," which will take you to a third page with Q&A at the top. To the left side of the screen, under the picture of the girl with her laptop, you will find that it says, "Has your question not been answered? Click here to submit your own." Click on the Click here link, which will finally take you to the page to submit your comments/request. (Trying to link you directly to the page only re-routes you to the link I've already provided, hence the long winded explanation. I was very confused the first ten times I tried to figure out how to e-mail Lifetime.)
