Act Six
[Scene: Tibet. Himalayas. CHRIS is dressed in a bulky black jacket and snow boots. He’s hiking his way through the snow when a cloud of orbs descends in front of him, forming into LEO. CHRIS stops short.]CHRIS: (shocked) Dad! (He twists his head.) What are you doing here?
(LEO rubs his hands on his arms.)
LEO: I was just thinking about asking you the same thing!
CHRIS: And I wouldn’t be able to tell you…future consequences.
LEO: (annoyed) Fine, but we still need your help.
CHRIS: Help? With what?
LEO: Anton.
CHRIS: (confusedly) Anton? (LEO opens his mouth to explain when CHRIS holds up his thickly gloved hand.) Never mind, I know who you’re talking about.
LEO: Great, let’s go. (He holds out his hand.)
CHRIS: The answer’s no.
LEO: (surprised) What?
CHRIS: I can’t do it.
LEO: Why not?
CHRIS: If I wasn’t here, they’d have to find out another way to do it, just like they did the first time.
LEO: But you are here-
CHRIS: But I shouldn’t be-
MELINDA’s VOICE: (telepathically) Oh come on, stop being such a stick in the mud and just help them.
CHRIS: Mel, butt out!
LEO: What?
(CHRIS holds up a silencing hand.)
CHRIS: (telepathically) You’re not talking me into this again.
MELINDA’s VOICE: (telepathically) Look, they succeed in the future, which means you’re not changing anything drastic…just like when we helped saved Jason. Come on! And, besides, need I remind you that you’ve already done far more drastic things than help our aunts-
CHRIS: (telepathically) You don’t need to bring up Lynn again, Melinda. In fact, that’s precisely why I’m not going to help them this time…I should have never done it in the first place, with Jason or…Lynn. (to LEO) I’m sorry, but they need to figure this out on their own this time. (He walks around his father and continues his hike. LEO pauses for a minute, then hugs his arms and orbs out.)
[Scene: San Francisco. Manor. Attic. The Charmed Ones and PIPER are there. PAIGE and PRUE are standing in front of the Book of Shadows. PRUE finds a page labeled “Fairies” in glittery ink in PHOEBE’s handwriting. Below is a summary for fairies and around it are a few color pencil sketches.]PAIGE: (to PHOEBE) You drew all those?
PHOEBE: Mhmm.
(PAIGE nods in approval.)
PAIGE: They’re pretty good.
(PRUE turns the page. On the back is the Power of Three spell she wrote in order to see fairies and trolls.)
PRUE: Found it.
(PHOEBE walks over to PRUE and PAIGE. The three of them look at the spell.)
PAIGE, PHOEBE, & PRUE: “In this ‘tween time,
This darkest hour,
We call upon the sacred power.
Three together stand alone,
Command the unseen to be shown.
In innocence we search the skies,
Enchanted are our newfound eyes.”
PIPER: Okay, I’ll be right back. (She leaves. PAIGE blinks.)
PAIGE: You know, I don’t feel any different.
PHOEBE: It’s one of the pluses. No turning into anything, not dizziness, no- (She stops as she sees PIPER walk in with DARRYL and ALICIA. She smiles.) Hey.
(PIPER takes ALICIA’s hand.)
PIPER: Sweetie, we were wondering if you might be able to call your fairy friend for us. We think she might be able to help us.
ALICIA: (excitedly) So she was right? You did find out how to save the Fairy Queen? (The sisters glance at each other.)
PIPER: We’re working on that.
(ALICIA nods. She walks over to the window and opens up her toy purse. She reaches inside and pinches something between her fingers, then sprinkles it on the windowsill.)
ALICIA: Jasmine? Jasmine!
(A sparkle of blue light appears and turns into JASMINE. PAIGE stares in awe.)
PAIGE: Now that is neat!
(PHOEBE bends down next to ALICIA.)
PHOEBE: Uh, Jasmine, right? (JASMINE nods. PHOEBE smiles.) I’m Phoebe.
(JASMINE looks at ALICIA and says something.)
ALICIA: She says she knows who you are…you’re the…the Charmed Ones. (She looks strangely at the sisters.) What’s a Charmed One?
PRUE: Oh-oh, uh, (she laughs) it’s uh, uh-
DARRYL: They’re nicknames.
PRUE: Right! (She laughs.) Our nicknames. (mouthing to DARRYL) Thanks!
(DARRYL winks.)
PHOEBE: Um…Jasmine, we need your help to stop Anton.
ALICIA: Is that who took the Fairy Queen? (PHOEBE nods. JASMINE says something to ALICIA again.) She wants to know how she can help.
PHOEBE: (to JASMINE) We need you to get all the fairies together and use your fairy dust to summon Anton. (JASMINE fearfully shakes her head. PHOEBE holds up her hand.) Please! We don’t know how else to summon him. He has an amulet that makes him immune to our powers.
(JASMINE looks at ALICIA. ALICIA frowns.)
ALICIA: She says she doesn’t know if they can do it.
PHOEBE: (to JASMINE) We just need you to try.
(JASMINE bows her head. She nods and says something to ALICIA before disappearing.)
ALICIA: She says they’ll be back soon.
(PHOEBE stands up.)
PIPER: You’ve been a big help Alicia. Thank you.
(ALICIA smiles. DARRYL motions his hand.)
DARRYL: Come on, we need to get you home.
(ALICIA eyes the sisters.)
ALICIA: So, it’s gonna be okay now?
PIPER: It’ll take time, sweetheart. (ALICIA takes DARRY’s hand.) I’ll walk you guys out to the car.
(They leave. LEO orbs in.)
PHOEBE: Well, it’s about time.
PAIGE: Where’ve you been?
LEO: It’s a long story.
PRUE: Well, where’s Chris?
LEO: He wouldn’t come.
PHOEBE: He wouldn’t come! How does he-
LEO: He says there’s another way, that you don’t need him, if you just put a little more thought into it.
(PHOEBE glares.)
PHOEBE: (sarcastically) Like what? We’re just supposed to have Thistle steal the amulet?
(PRUE and PAIGE share looks.)
PRUE: Actually, that’s not a bad idea! If they can summon him and get the amulet, then we can do the rest.
[Time lapse. The sisters and LEO are gathered in the attic. Several candles are placed around the room, casting shadows with their flames. In the center of the attic a shimmering circle has been created using fairy dust. A large group of fairies are fluttering above the circle and look very much like a bright glowing sphere. A low humming is coming from them and they begin to draw out like rings moving back after a pebble hits the surface of a pond. Only THISTLE is left in the middle. She throws out her hand and a cloud of fairy dust descends into the middle of the circle and sparkles.]
[Cut to the forest. ANTON is there, now completely transparent. He looks furious as he walks seamlessly through trees, logs, and various other obstacles.]ANTON: Come out, you little vermin! (A spiral of sparkles surrounds him.)
[Cut to the attic. A glittery spiral appears within the circle, depositing ANTON. He turns his head, disoriented, then spots PHOEBE.]ANTON: You!
(THISTLE furiously throws another handful of fairy dust at ANTON. The cloud hits the amulet, which became transparent with ANTON, and absorbs into the necklace. But unlike before, when the necklace glows, it becomes solid and falls to the ground. ANTON hears the clank and looks down.)
PIPER: Now!
PRUE, PHOEBE, & PAIGE: “Immortal warlock,
That doth be so inner squalid,
By the Power of Three,
We make you solid!”
(The circle of fairy dust rises up with a magical wind and blows into ANTON. He sparkles and shimmers as the dust coalesces to form a second skin. In a flash, he becomes corporeal again.)
PAIGE: Oh look, he’s a real boy!
(ANTON looks down at himself and touches his chest, feeling solid. He sees the amulet on the floor by his foot and quickly leans to grab it.)
PRUE: (to PAIGE) Not for long! (She arches out her hand and a bolt of electricity sparks cracks into ANTON, knocking him to the ground.) Oh! I didn’t mean to do that!
(While ANTON’s shaking from the electrical blast, PIPER stomps over and slams the auger shell onto him. The auger tentacles latch onto ANTON’s face and begin to suck away his immorality. However, as his skin starts to turn into watery droplets and dissolve, the leftover electrical shocks from PRUE’s attack begin to spark on his skin. PIPER jumps back.)
PIPER: That didn’t happen last time!
(The more ANTON dissolves into water, the stronger the electric charges are. PHOEBE hits PRUE.)
PHOEBE: Nice goin’ Prue!
(PRUE’s head falls limp. ASTRAL PRUE appears at the Wiccan chest and flips it open. She grabs out the five crystals.)
ASTRAL PRUE: Piper! (ASTRAL PRUE tosses one across to PIPER, who catches it and slams it down on the floor. She then throws one to PAIGE and one to PHOEBE, who also stick them into place.) Leo!
(ASTRAL PRUE arches her arm and throws one across to LEO, who leans back and catches it like a baseball. He knees down to put it in position. As ANTON explodes into a hundred droplets, ASTRAL PRUE scrambles across the floor to shove the last crystal into place and disappears. PRUE awakens just in time to see the crackling explosion contained in the crystal cage. PHOEBE pats PRUE on the back.)
PHOEBE: As I was saying, great thinking.
(PRUE playfully nudges PHOEBE. PIPER moves towards the crystal cage and peers inside. All she sees remaining is a puddle of water with little electrical currents running through it and the shattered remnants of the auger shell.)
PIPER: Looks like we won’t be able to use that to vanquish anymore immortal baddies. (She eyes PRUE.) Thanks for that.
(PRUE touches her stomach.)
PRUE: Well, the important thing is he’s gone, right?
PHOEBE, PIPER, & PAIGE: Right.
PHOEBE: And for good this time! (She walks over and picks up the red amulet that’s lying on the floor just outside the crystal cage.) And this time I’m putting this in a safety deposit box!
[Time lapse. It’s morning and PAIGE is in the kitchen, holding a near full gallon of milk as she stands in front of the open refrigerator, staring at all the food inside, including two other full gallons of milk. She frowns and pushes the other two gallons aside and squeezes in the gallon she’s holding. As she shuts the fridge door, PRUE wanders in. PHOEBE is sitting at the kitchen table, typing on her laptop. PAIGE walks over to her bowl of Granola on the table and picks it up.]PAIGE: You know, we really need to make a chore list or something so all three of us don’t end up going shopping at the same time again. (She slides a spoonful of cereal into her mouth and nods in the direction of the fridge as she chews and finally swallows.) That is ridiculous! I’m afraid the fridge is going to barf of me every time I open it.
(PRUE walks over to the cupboard and opens it to reveal it full of several boxes of cereal, including two boxes of Granola. She pulls one out.)
PRUE: On the bright side, at least you and Phoebe don’t have to share for a while. (PAIGE playfully wags her spoon at PRUE as she grabs a bowl from another cupboard. PRUE glances over at PHOEBE, who isn’t paying attention to them.) Whatcha doin’?
PHOEBE: Working on my column…well, technically they’re only test letters. (She looks up, wearing her glasses.) Elise, that’s the editor, wanted to make sure my Spencer Ricks advice wasn’t just a one time fluke, so she gave me a mock column to work on answer and if she likes what she sees, then I’m hired!
PRUE: That’s great, Pheebs! I’m proud of you.
(PHOEBE grins and then bows her head, returning to her mock column. PRUE and PAIGE look at each other and smile.)
[Scene: Tibet. Himalayas. CHRIS and MELINDA are there, both dressed in heavy jackets and snow boots. They're bending down, hunched over the scorched ground where LILLITH had killed the MYSTIC. A three card spread of Tarot cards have been placed over the blackened ground. In order from left to right the cards are “The Emperor,” “The Devil,” and “Death.” CHRIS and MELINDA turn to each other with hopeless looks.]
[Scene: France. Alps. LILLITH is standing ankle deep in the snow. She’s holding a pentagram shaped onyx stone in her hand. The onyx begins to quiver and break into a full on shake before flying off of her palm and imbedding itself in a wall of snow. LILLITH walks over to the snow wall and holds up her hand, expelling a funnel of flames. She runs her hand back and forth until all the snow is melted, revealing compacted rocks and dirt, with a fist sized hole in the center where the onyx pentagram flew through. LILLITH inhales and then holds out both of her arms. Her dark eyes narrow as she concentrates. The rock and dirt begin to shake, as does the ground beneath her. Cracks begin to form in the dirt, pebbles begin to fall loose, and finally big chunks of dirt begin to break off. A heavy groaning sound echoes in the mountains and then a massive crack forms down the center of the dirt wall before it completely rips open, revealing two rock doors that were concealing a dark cave entrance. The onyx pentagram is stuck to the outside of one of the doors. The onyx shivers and then rips off the door and flies into the dark passageway. LILLITH drops her arms to her sides, looking exhausted. Then she produces a fireball in her palm and walks into the passageway. The light from the fireball casts shadows on the dark walls, which have cobwebs and ancient drawings. She moves down the passageway until she comes to a dead end. She holds out her fireball, revealing what looks to be a stone sarcophagus. She smirks and throws the fireball at the sarcophagus. As it hits, two bulky demons appear shoulder to shoulder in front of the sarcophagus.]DEMON #1: Leave this place!
LILLITH: Or what? (She summons another fireball and holds it up to her face, revealing a wicked grin.)
DEMON #2: You’ll be eliminated.
LILLITH: You know, I’ve never been one to take orders.
(DEMON #1’s eyes turn black. He holds out his arm and a rush of umbrakinetic energy races towards LILLITH. Lillith throws up her hand, arching the umbrakinetic blast to hit DEMON #2. DEMON #2 is consumed by black flames. DEMON #1 squeezes his hand into a fist. LILLITH gasps as an invisible force clenches around her body. Then her head falls limp and ASTRAL LILLITH appears. She dives into DEMON #1 and he begins to convulse until his hold on LILLITH ceases and she falls to the ground. DEMON #1 drops to his knees and LILLITH awakens. She scrambles to her feet and throws up both her hands, blasting DEMON #1 with scorching flames. DEMON #1’s skin begins to turn a neon red and then a glowing white before he explodes, leaving a smoky wreath behind. LILLITH waits for the smoke to dissipate and then steps up the three steps leading to the sarcophagus. She finds the onyx pentagram embedded in a hole, crafted perfectly for it. She reaches down and twists the pentagram until it’s inversed. A loud moaning fills the passageway, followed by a terrible explosion. LILLITH shields her face from the smoke and dust. For several moments, she can’t see anything, and then as the smoke clears, she finds a small child, about five years of age with curly golden locks staring back at her from the open sarcophagus. The child’s eyes turn black and LILLITH grins.)
LILLITH: Hello, Son.
